Croatia is a nation that has competed at three Hopman Cup tournaments since it gained its independence following the breakup of Yugoslavia in the early 1990s. It first competed in the Hopman Cup in 1996 and went on to win the title that year. Sixteen years after last participation (2007) Croatia won second title at 2023. 2023 Hopman Cup
The Hopman Cup XXXII was the 32nd edition of the Hopman Cup, a tennis tournament between nations in men's and women's tennis. It took place from 19–23 July 2023 on clay courts at the Nice Lawn Tennis Club in Nice, France. After a three-year absence, on 6 December 2022, the International Tennis Federation (ITF) announced that the Hopman Cup would return for the 2023 tennis season in Nice in July, the first occasion in which the event was moved out of Australia and away from the opening week of the season. The 2023 event featured six teams, as opposed to the eight featured in previous editions. Team Croatia's Donna Vekić and Borna Ćorić defeated Switzerland's Céline Naef and Leandro Riedi in the final to win the second Hopman Cup title for Croatia, its first since 1996. Goran Ivanišević (; born 13 September 1971) is a Croatian former professional tennis player and current coach. He is the only player to win a The Championships, Wimbledon, Wimbledon singles title as a Wild card (sports)#Professional tennis, wildcard. Iva Majoli-Marić (born 12 August 1977) is a former professional tennis player from Croatia who played for both Yugoslavia and Croatia. She upset Martina Hingis to win the women's singles title at the French Open in 1997. Majoli also won seven other singles titles and one doubles title during her career. She reached a career-high singles ranking of world No. 4, in February 1996. Career Majoli was born in Zagreb in SR Croatia, Yugoslavia. As a girl, she was trained by Jelena Genčić. Burswood Dome
The Dome at Crown Perth (originally the Burswood Superdome and formerly the Burswood Dome) was a multipurpose indoor arena used for sports and entertainment. The dome was in size, with seating for 13,600 people. The whole arena was pressurised so that the fibreglass roof was suspended above the ground. It was a venue for indoor sports, notably the Hopman Cup tennis tournament, which was moved to the Perth Arena for the 2013 and future events, and for pop music concerts.
