Croatia competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 5 to 21 August 2016. This was the nation's seventh consecutive appearance at the Summer Olympics. The Croatian Olympic Committee ( hr, Hrvatski olimpijski odbor, ''HOO'') confirmed a roster of 87 athletes, 68 men and 19 women, to compete across 18 sports at the Games. Croatia left Rio de Janeiro with a total of 10 medals (5 gold, 3 silver, and 2 bronze), finishing seventeenth in the overall standings. Croatian Olympic Committee
The Croatian Olympic Committee ( hr, Hrvatski olimpijski odbor (HOO)) is the non-profit organization representing Croatian athletes in the International Olympic Committee. The COC organizes Croatia's representatives at the Summer and Winter Olympic Games. It also organizes the Croatian contingent at smaller events such as the Mediterranean Games. Members of the committee are 44 sports federations, which elect the Executive Council composed of the president and 15 members. In 2006, the COC organized the first Croatian World Games in Zadar. Josip Glasnović
Josip Glasnović (born 7 May 1983) is a Croatian sports shooter who competes in shotgun events. His biggest success was the gold medal in trap at the 2016 Summer Olympics. He reached the trap final at the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, where he finished 5th. He also won a gold medal in team trap along with his national team teammates, his brother Anton Glasnović and Giovanni Cernogoraz at the 2012 European Shotgun Championships in Larnaca. In the 2016 Summer Olympics, he won a gold medal in trap, beating Giovanni Pellielo in the final round. Personal life Glasnović is of Kosovo Croat descent. Valent Sinković
Valent Sinković (born 2 August 1988) is a Croatian rower. He is the older brother of rower Martin Sinković with whom he won the gold medal in Men's double sculls at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio. He had previously won the silver in the men's quadruple sculls at the 2012 Summer Olympics with his brother, David Šain and Damir Martin. The Sinković brothers were the first men's double sculls team to go under 6 minutes for their race time. Sinković followed his brothers, Matija and Martin, into rowing after injury stopped him playing football. Martin and Valent have been racing together internationally since 2008.
