Croatian Olympic Committee
The Croatian Olympic Committee ( hr, Hrvatski olimpijski odbor (HOO)) is the non-profit organization representing Croatian athletes in the International Olympic Committee. The COC organizes Croatia's representatives at the Summer and Winter Olympic Games. It also organizes the Croatian contingent at smaller events such as the Mediterranean Games. Members of the committee are 44 sports federations, which elect the Executive Council composed of the president and 15 members. In 2006, the COC organized the first Croatian World Games in Zadar. Ivan Ratkić (born 22 February 1986) is a former Croatian alpine skiing, alpine skier. Ratkić was born in Zagreb, at the time in SR Croatia, SFR Yugoslavia. He is a member of SK Medveščak. The Women's 7.5 kilometre sprint biathlon competition at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy was held on 16 February, at Cesana San Sicario. Competitors raced over three loops of a 2.5 kilometre skiing course, shooting ten times, five prone and five standing. Each miss required a competitor to ski a 150-metre penalty loop. The women's downhill of the 2006 Winter Olympics was held at San Sicario, Italy, on Wednesday, 15 February. Defending Olympic champion Carole Montillet-Carles was nineteenth in the current season's World Cup downhill standings, headed by Michaela Dorfmeister from Austria. Janica Kostelić of Croatia was defending World Champion, but was fourth in the overall World Cup standings, though she did win a downhill at Bad Kleinkirchheim in mid-January. Dorfmeister won the gold medal, Martina Schild of Switzerland took the silver, and Anja Pärson of Sweden was the bronze medalist. Montillet-Carles finished 28th and Kostelić did not start. Nika Fleiss
Nika Fleiss (born 14 December 1984) is a Croatian former alpine skier. Fleiss was born in Brežice, at the time SR Slovenia, SFR Yugoslavia. She lives in Samobor. Having started skiing at the age of 3, her best results were in slalom. After several successful races in junior category, her first World Cup race was 27 October 2002 in Sölden. Natko Zrnčić-Dim (; born 7 March 1986) is a Croatian alpine ski coach and retired World Cup skier. He won a bronze medal in super combined at the World Championships in 2009 at Val-d'Isère, France, and is a member of SK Medveščak. Born in Zagreb, SR Croatia, SFR Yugoslavia, Zrnčić-Dim's best World Cup result is second place in a super combined, achieved on 30 January 2011 in Chamonix, France. Compatriot Ivica Kostelić won that race, his seventh of the month, and marked the first time that Croatians finished first and second in a World Cup race.
