Croatia In The Eurovision Song Contest 2020
Croatia originally planned to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 with the song "" written by Ante Pecotić. The song was performed by Damir Kedžo. The Croatian broadcaster Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT) organised the national final to select the Croatian entry for the 2020 contest in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Fourteen entries competed in the national final on 29 February 2020 and "" performed by Damir Kedžo was selected as the winner following the combination of votes from five regional juries and a public televote. Croatia was drawn to compete in the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest which took place on 12 May 2020. However, the contest was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Damir Kedžo
Damir Kedžo (born 24 May 1987) is a Croatian pop singer. While he started his career in 2003 by participating in '' Story Supernova Music Talents'', he became even more famous in Croatia after winning the third season of '' Tvoje lice zvuči poznato'', the Croatian version of ''Your Face Sounds Familiar''. He also performed in musicals. Life and career 1987–2002: Early life and education Kedžo was born on 24 May 1987 in Omišalj, where he finished musical school, and was singing in a church choir. When he was a child, besides singing, he wanted to be a gynecologist, but he gave up on that idea when signed up for the Story Super Nova Music Talent Show. Roko Blažević (born 10 March 2000), also known as Roko, is a Croatian pop singer. He represented Croatia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 with the song " The Dream", having won '' Dora 2019''. Croatia In The Eurovision Song Contest 2000
Croatia selected its entry for the 2000 Eurovision Song Contest through the "Dora 2000" national contest, which was organised by the Croatian national broadcaster Hrvatska radiotelevizija (HRT). The winner was Goran Karan with "Kad zaspu anđeli". Before Eurovision Dora 2000 The national contest was held on 19 February 2000 in Opatija, which consisted of a televised final with 26 songs. The songs were pre-selected from a public call for submissions from songwriters and composers. The winner was decided by 21 juries, 20 regional juries and a 21st jury made up of televoting results. Goran Karan
Goran Karan (born 2 April 1964) is a Croatian vocalist. He specializes in songs influenced by Dalmatian folk music and is known for his powerful and refined tenor voice. Karan's collaboration with composer Zdenko Runjić led to some of his most acclaimed work, which won him several awards. Biography Karan was the lead singer of Croatian rock group Big Blue, before becoming a solo artist in 1997. In 2000 he represented Croatia at Eurovision Song Contest, after winning the Croatian pre-selection Dora. Vanna (singer)
Ivana Ranilović-Vrdoljak (born 1 September 1970 in Koprivnica, Croatia, SFR Yugoslavia), better known by her stage name Vanna, is a Croatian pop singer. Biography As a child, Vanna won prizes in various national children and youth festivals. Her debut was at the 1990 Zagrebfest, a music festival held in Zagreb. In that year she left her hometown to live and study in Zagreb and whilst studying, she performed in a band called BOA singing back vocals. In 1992 her professional career as a singer was launched. She joined a eurodance band called Electro Team who started to perform as hip hop and pop rap group and became an instant star. Not only was she a singer but a co-author and songwriter of all the songs performed by Electro Team.
