Cristina Donà (album)
Cristina Donà (, real name Cristina Trombini ; Rho, Italy, September 23, 1967) is an Italian singer and songwriter. She developed a passion for music since she was a teenager, her favorite singers being, among others, Bruce Springsteen, Sinéad O'Connor, Joni Mitchell, Michelle Shocked, Tom Waits, Lucio Battisti, and The Beatles . She studied at Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan, where, during a student protest in 1990, she met Manuel Agnelli, leader of the Italian indie rock band Afterhours. Later she started her own singing career opening Afterhours’ concerts in their ''During Christine's Sleep'' tour. Besides live performances in clubs in Milano and surroundings, Donà, encouraged by Manuel Agnelli, began working on her own songs, and released her first album, ''Tregua'', in 1997. Rho (Italy)
Rho (; ; ) is a town and ''comune'' (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Milan in the Italian region of Lombardy, located about northwest of Milan. The language spoken in Rho is Italian. Geography Rho is lapped by the river Olona and crossed by its tributaries Bozzente and Lura, nowadays partially cloaked inside the town. Afterhours (band)
Afterhours is an Italian alternative rock band. The band was named after the Velvet Underground song of the same name. Biography The Afterhours were formed in 1985 in Milan around Manuel Agnelli, a Velvet Underground fan. They debuted in 1987 with the single ''My bit boy'', followed a year later by the EP ''All Good Children Go to Hell''. The band has released two albums and two EPs in English. Since ''Germi'' (1995), the group switched to Italian language, except for ''Ballads for Little Hyenas'', produced by Afghan Whigs leader Greg Dulli, who also played with the group in a 2006 tour in the United States. Afterhours also served as the Italian backing band to Greg Dulli and Mark Lanegan’s Gutter Twins project and Agnelli co-wrote two songs with Dulli on the Twilight Singers album Powder Burns. Davey Ray Moor
Davey Ray Moor (born David Raymond Moore, Beirut) is an England-based songwriter, singer, multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer. Biography Davey Ray Moor was born as David Raymond Moore in Beirut, his father was an accountant for the United Nations. As a teen he had asthma attacks and was confined indoors where he learned to play the piano by playing along to Elton John and David Bowie. He was raised in Canberra and Sydney. In Canberra he had attended Copland College alongside Russell Kilbey and Charles Ratcliffe. In 1983 Moor, on keyboards and vocals, with Kilbey, Phil Maher and Ratcliffe formed a psychedelic rock group, the Crystal Set, in Sydney. Mark Eitzel
Mark Eitzel (born January 30, 1959) is an American musician, best known as a songwriter and lead singer of the San Francisco band American Music Club. Biography Eitzel spent his formative years in a military family living in Okinawa, Taiwan, Ohio and the United Kingdom. He moved to America in 1979, and came out as gay in 1985. He started making music while he was a teenager in Southampton, England. His first band was a punk band called the Cowboys when he moved to Columbus, Ohio, at 19. They released one single in 1980. His second band was called The Naked Skinnies and they released one single in 1981. He moved to San Francisco with The Naked Skinnies in 1981 where they disbanded in 1982. Meltdown is an annual festival held in London, featuring a mix of music, art, performance and film. Meltdown is held in June at Southbank Centre, the arts complex covering and including the Royal Festival Hall, the Queen Elizabeth Hall and The Hayward. Each year, the festival chooses an established music artist or act as director of the event, and they pick the performers of their choosing. He played college football at the University of Louisville and was drafted in the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft (28th overall) by the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League (NFL).
