Cristian Popovici
Cristian Popovici (born 13 February 1968) is a Romanian former professional footballer and currently a manager. As a footballer Popovici played nine years for FCM Bacău, being an important member of the team that beat Steaua București with 5-1 right on the Steaua Stadium and also had appearances in European competitions as UEFA Cup or UEFA Intertoto Cup. After retirement, Popovici started his football manager career, being well known for coaching especially teams from Bacău and Moldavia such as: Aerostar Bacău, FCM Bacău, SC Bacau, FC Botoșani or Foresta Suceava, the only interruptions consisting of two short spells at Dinamo II București and Metaloglobus București. Bacău
Bacău ( , , ; hu, Bákó; la, Bacovia) is the main city in Bacău County, Romania. At the 2016 national estimation it had a population of 196,883, making it the 12th largest city in Romania. The city is situated in the historical region of Moldavia, at the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains, and on the Bistrița River (which meets the Siret River about to the south of Bacău). The Ghimeș Pass links Bacău to the region of Transylvania. UEFA Intertoto Cup
The UEFA Intertoto Cup (from la, Inter, 'between' + german: toto, 'betting pool'),Most precisely, from (football pool); cf. often abbreviated and more known in the German-speaking world as UI Cup and originally called the International Football Cup, was a summer football competition. The competition was discontinued after the 2008 tournament. Teams who originally would have entered the Intertoto Cup now directly enter the qualifying stages of the UEFA Europa League from this point. The tournament was founded in 1961–62, but was only taken over by UEFA in 1995. Initially, the tournament ended with a single champion, who received the Intertoto Cup. The Liga 3, most often spelled as Liga III, is the third level of the Romanian football league system. Its name was changed from Divizia C to Liga III before the start of the 2006–07 season.
