Eugene Creighton
The Honourable Eugene Joseph Creighton (also Eugene Owns Many Horses) is a member of the Blood Tribe, or Kainai Nation, Kainaiawa, which is an integral part of the Blackfoot, Blackfoot Confederacy. Early years After growing up on the Blood 148, Alberta, Blood Reserve, Eugene began working in Aboriginal justice at an early age. In 1980, he became the first Chairperson of the Blood Tribe Police Commission. He then attended law school at the University of Alberta, and was admitted to the Law Society of Alberta in 1986. He was one of the first members of the Blood Tribe to become a lawyer. He has consistently inspired the Blood youth to carry on their education. He is interested in Rodeo and animal husbandry. Ernest Creighton
Ernest Creighton (9 July 1859 – 17 February 1931) was an English first-class cricketer, who played four matches for Yorkshire in 1888. Born in Hemsworth, Yorkshire, England, Creighton was a slow left-arm spinner, who took 10 wickets at the average of 18.10, with a best of 4 for 22 against Surrey. A tail-end batsman, he scored 33 runs at 5.50 with a best innings of 10. Creighton played in four successive matches in a fortnight for Yorkshire. A builder by trade, he was professional at Ramsbottom, Lancashire, in 1879, and later at Todmorden from 1888 to 1894 and 1900 to 1901. He took over 100 wickets in each season, totalling 908 in all. Edward Charles Creighton (August 31, 1820 – November 5, 1874) was a prominent pioneer businessman in early Omaha, Nebraska. The elder brother of John A. Creighton, the Creightons were responsible for founding many institutions that were central to the growth and development of Omaha. Married to Mary Lucretia Creighton in their native Dayton, Ohio, Edward relied on Mary to carry out his request to create a college, which eventually became Creighton University. Biography Creighton was born on a farm in Belmont County, Ohio in 1820. He was raised in an Irish Catholic family, and was always active in Church affairs. Donna Creighton (born 20 September 1985 in Portsmouth, England)) is a British former bobsledder and skeleton racer who has competed since 2004. Before taking up sliding she was a heptathlete. Donald Grant Creighton (15 July 1902 – 19 December 1979) was a Canadian historian whose major works include ''The Commercial Empire of the St-Lawrence, 1760–1850'' (first published in 1937), a detailed study on the growth of the English merchant class in relation to the St Lawrence River in Canada. His biography of John A. Macdonald, published into two parts between 1952 and 1955, was considered by many Canadian historians as re-establishing biographies as a proper form of historical research in Canada. By the 1960s Creighton began to move towards a more general history of Canada. Creighton's later years were preoccupied with criticizing the then ruling Liberal Party of Canada under William Lyon Mackenzie King and his successor Louis St. Laurent. David Creighton (April 1, 1843 – November 7, 1917) was an Ontario businessman and political figure. He represented Grey North in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1875 to 1890 as a Conservative member. He was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1843; his parents were of Irish descent. Dave Creighton
David Theodore Creighton (June 24, 1930 – August 18, 2017) was a Canadian ice hockey forward. Creighton started his National Hockey League career with the Boston Bruins in 1948. He would also play with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Chicago Black Hawks, and New York Rangers. On August 18, 1955, the Detroit Red Wings traded Creighton and Bronco Horvath to the New York Rangers in exchange for Aggie Kukulowicz and Billy Dea. He left the NHL after the 1960 season. He played several more seasons in the AHL before retiring after the 1969 season. After this, he coached the Providence Reds from 1969 to 1970. Chris Creighton
Christopher William Creighton (born February 7, 1969) is an American football coach and former player. He is currently the head coach at Eastern Michigan University, a position he has held since the 2014 season. Creighton has served as the head coach at three other schools: Ottawa University (1997–2000), Wabash College (2001–2007), and Drake University (2008–2013). Creighton played quarterback at Kenyon College where he established several North Coast Athletic Conference records (since broken). As the head coach at Wabash in the early 2000s, he turned the school into a national contender at the NCAA Division III level. At Drake, he shared back-to-back Pioneer Football League conference titles. Creighton holds the unusual distinction of having won football games on three different continents. The F/V ''Charles W'', also known as Annie J Larsen, is a historic fishing schooner anchored in Petersburg, Alaska. At the time of its retirement in 2000, it was the oldest fishing vessel in the fishing fleet of Southeast Alaska, and the only known wooden fishing vessel in the entire state still in active service. Launched in 1907, she was first used in the halibut fisheries of Puget Sound and the Bering Sea as the ''Annie J Larsen''. In 1925 she was purchased by the Alaska Glacier Seafood Company, refitted for shrimp trawling, and renamed ''Charles W'' in honor of owner Karl Sifferman's father. The company was one of the pioneers of the local shrimp fishery, a business it began to phase out due to increasing competition in the 1970s.
