Creepy (band)
Creepy is a San Francisco, California-based indie rock/pop punk band that formed in 2002. The Triple EP and Strong Lies Kill Highs In 2007, the group released a full-length CD entitled "The Triple EP" which was a collection of music from three previously unreleased EP length CDs. The Triple EP received positive reviews by many critics of independent music because of its illustration of progress as the band evolved their unique sound over the 2003-2007 period. The Triple EP also received radio play on several college and independent music radio showcases. The band released their fourth EP in 2009 entitled, ''Strong Lies Kill Highs''. It was announced in January 2009 in a blog on Creepy's Myspace that they plan to tour in March and April in support of their newly released EP. Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Retching Red
Retching Red was an American, Oakland, California-based hardcore punk band, that formed in late July 2004. Their lyrics mainly deal with feminist and leftist political issues. The band consisted of founding members Cinder Block (vocals, formerly of Tilt and Fabulous Disaster) and bass player Mike "Cyco Logic Loco" Avilez (of Oppressed Logic, Angry Samoans, Strung Up), with Adam Grant (of Creepy) on drums and Jake Dudley (from Second Opinion) on guitar. Rodent Popsicle Records released their debut CD entitled, ''Get Your Red Wings'', later that year. Oppressed Logic are an American punk rock, punk band from Oakland, California, United States, who formed in 1994. Currently, the band consists of vocalist Mike Avilez, drummer Jim Redens, guitar and bassist Jake Martinez, and guitarist Mike Fuentes. The band's first release was a cassette called ''What They Want... What the Fuck.'' The first official album the band appeared on was a compilation called ''Pigs Suck'', which was released in 1995 by Clean Plate Records; it featured one Oppressed Logic song called "They're Gonna Die". Verbal Abuse (band)
Verbal Abuse is an American hardcore punk band formed in Houston, Texas, United States, in 1981. They are one of the founding bands of hardcore punk. They later relocated to San Francisco and eventually to Oakland, California. Early years (1981-1983) Verbal Abuse was established in 1981 by 17-year-old singer and songwriter Nicki Sicki, former member of the bands Sick Pleasure and Legionnaire's Disease. Radi Kilowatt handled the bass duties, his brother General Electric (aka G.E.) was the original guitarist, and John Glenn played drums. Cinder Block (born Cynthia Morgan, May 13, 1961) is an American punk rock vocalist and visual artist. Cinder is most well-known as the lead vocalist for Tilt, a Fat Wreck Chords punk band. Early life Cinder was raised in Nebraska. She categorized herself as being a "festival-goer" and a "concert-goer" in her adolescence. She was a part of Nebraska's punk rock scene in her youth and often visited a venue there called the Drumstick and the Zoobar, where well-known Los Angeles-based bands such as X and Meat Puppets would perform. Cinder cited those bands as influences that inspired her to pursue her own career as a punk rock musician. She also felt inspired by the rebellion, energy, and artistry in punk rock. Tilt is an American punk rock band from the East Bay (San Francisco Bay Area), East Bay, California, United States, formed in 1992. The group's debut studio album, ''Play Cell'', was released through Lookout Records in 1993. They would soon after get signed to Fat Wreck Chords, which the rest of its albums were released through. Ryan Greene is an American record producer, sound engineer, former owner of Crush Recording Studios in Scottsdale, Arizona and founder of Area 52 Entertainment in Los Angeles, California.
