Walden ( Canada 1996 Census population 10,292) was a town in the Canadian province of Ontario, which existed from 1973 to 2000. Created as part of the Regional Municipality of Sudbury when regional government was introduced, the town was dissolved when the city of Greater Sudbury was incorporated on January 1, 2001. Crean Brush ( 1725 – May 1778) was an 18th-century Irish-born Loyalist (American Revolution), Loyalist, "Yorker", and Tory from Cumberland County, Republic of Vermont, Cumberland County, New Hampshire Grants (present-day Vermont). He is remembered as one of the "notorious Yorkers" who resided for some time in eastern Vermont, and for his participation in Loyalist armies during the American Revolution. Thomas Aaron Crean (born March 25, 1966) is a college basketball coach. Most recently, he was the head coach for the Georgia Bulldogs basketball, University of Georgia men's basketball team. Crean was previously the head coach of Indiana Hoosiers men's basketball, Indiana University. Thomas Crean ( ga, Tomás Ó Cuirín; 16 February 1877 – 27 July 1938) was an Irish seaman and Antarctic explorer who was awarded the Albert Medal for Lifesaving (AM). Crean was a member of three major expeditions to Antarctica during the Heroic Age of Antarctic Exploration, including Robert Falcon Scott's 1911–1913 Terra Nova Expedition. This saw the race to reach the South Pole lost to Roald Amundsen and ended in the deaths of Scott and his party. During the expedition, Crean's solo walk across the Ross Ice Shelf to save the life of Edward Evans led to him receiving the Albert Medal. Crean left the family farm near Annascaul, in County Kerry, to enlist in the Royal Navy at age 16. Major Dr. Thomas Joseph Crean, (19 April 1873 – 25 March 1923) was an Irish rugby union player, British Army soldier and physician, doctor. During the Second Boer War, while serving with the Imperial Light Horse, he was awarded the Victoria Cross. In 1902, he was made an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Royal College of Surgeons. During the First World War he served with the Royal Army Medical Corps and was awarded the Distinguished Service Order. Stephen Lamont Crean (12 July 1947August 1985) was an Australian public servant, who was the son of Frank Crean and brother of Simon and David Crean, all politicians. Crean came to national attention in Australia due to his 1985 disappearance while skiing and the scale of the unsuccessful search to find him. He disappeared after skiing out of Charlotte Pass, New South Wales, launching one of the most intensive searches in Australian history. He was declared dead at age 38. His remains were found in 1987. He was the Member of Parliament for Hotham from 1990 to 2013, representing the Labor Party, and served as a Cabinet Minister in the Hawke, Keating, Rudd and Gillard Governments. Patrick Crean (27 June 1911 – 22 December 2003) was a British actor and theatrical fight director who was one of the most influential figures in the art of modern stage combat. Crean was born in London to parents Surgeon-Major Thomas Crean VC and Victoria Heredia. Crean, who had a background in competitive fencing, began choreographing fights in 1932 when he was working in England as an actor in ''The Legends of Don Juan''. He received public acclaim for choreographing the impressive fight scenes for John Guilgud's 1944-45 season of Hamlet at the Haymarket, with a personal feature on Pathé News and in Post Magazine.
