Cream Abdul Babar
Cream Abdul Babar is one of the longest-standing bands in the Tallahassee scene. The band formed in 1994, combining elements of punk, metal, industrial, and noise to create their brand of experimental rock. The band's name is a play on Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. History The band's original 5-piece lineup was ingerIan Powell, Tradd Sanderson and Dan Rozenblum playing guitar, David Sanderson on bass and Jason Caldwell on drums. In 1995 they released their first EP titled ''Chlamydia Lunch''. Shortly following their first release and tour, trombonist Mike Hagerty joined the band and appeared on the 1996 ''Cream Abdul Babar/I Guard the Sheep'' 7-inch split. In 1997, Cream Abdul Babar entered the studio with Tallahassee-based recording engineer, Tommy Hamilton, and exited with their first full-length record, "The Backwater of Masculine Ethics." Mira (band)
Mira were an American five-piece dream pop/shoegaze band from Tallahassee, Florida, United States, formed in 1996. History Mira was formed by vocalist Regina Sosinski, guitarist Tom Parker, bassist Sam Riles and drummer Alan Donaldson. Originally called Still, they were influenced by shoegaze bands such as Slowdive and Cocteau Twins. After releasing several EPs on their own Tesseract label, the band signed to Projekt Records, and their song "Cayman" appeared on Projekt's cat-themed 1999 compilation ''A Cat-Shaped Hole in My Heart''. Max Fresen replaced Riles, and the band added guitarist Mark Davidson. Mira released their eponymous debut studio album on April 4, 2000. For second album ''Apart'', Melody Fleck replaced Fresen on bass, and the band toured the US. In 2002, they collaborated on a self-released split single with Cream Abdul Babar, covering each other's songs. Kylesa
Kylesa is an American heavy metal band that was formed in Savannah, Georgia. Their music incorporates experimentalism with heavy riffs, drop-tuned guitars and elements of psychedelic rock. The group was established in 2001 by the former members of Damad, with the addition of guitar player Laura Pleasants who is from North Carolina. The band has since undergone line up changes; the remaining original members are Phillip Cope and Laura Pleasants. In 2006, the band added two drummers (Carl McGinley of Unpersons, from Savannah, and Jeff Porter). Eric Hernandez (of Capsule, from Miami) joined in 2008 to replace Porter. Mastodon is an American heavy metal band from Atlanta, Georgia. Formed in 2000, the band's lineup of Troy Sanders (bass/vocals), Brent Hinds (lead guitar/vocals), Bill Kelliher (rhythm guitar/backing vocals) and Brann Dailor (drums/vocals) has remained the same since 2001. Tommy Hamilton
Tommy Hamilton (born 1935 in Bray) is a former Irish footballer who played as a forward. He was educated at Synge Street CBS in Dublin. His first club was Manchester United whom he joined in 1953 where he began playing as an inside forward for the third team and reserves. Hamilton had played for Johnville F.C., where he was trained and scouted by Jem Kennedy who sent him to Manchester United. However, Hamilton was not prepared for being conscripted so he came home to sign for Shamrock Rovers in November 1955 and made his debut against Waterford at Kilcohan Park on 6 November in a League of Ireland Shield match. The following season he was the League's top scorer. Hamilton scored twice for Rovers in the European Champion Clubs' Cup.
