''Friday the 13th'' is an American horror franchise that consists of twelve slasher films, a television show, novels, and comic books. The main villain in the series is Jason Voorhees, who drowned at Camp Crystal Lake as a boy due to the negligence of the teenage counselors. Decades later, the lake is rumored to be "cursed" and is the setting for a series of mass murders. Jason is featured in all of the films, either as the killer or as the motivation for the killings. Each entry in the series features a different cast of characters, including a final girl who defeats the killer in the end. Recurring characters in the series include Jason's vengeful mother Pamela Voorhees, Alice Hardy, Tommy Jarvis and Crazy Ralph. Alex Bayouth (January 25, 1926 – October 14, 2022), known professionally as Ted White, was an American stuntman and actor who was best known for playing Jason Voorhees in '' Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter''. He was also notable for having doubled for John Wayne, Fess Parker, Clark Gable, and Richard Boone. Life and career Born as Alex Bayouth in Krebs, Oklahoma, White grew up in Snyder, Texas. Richard Brooker (20 November 1954 – 8 April 2013) was a British actor and stuntman, perhaps best known for his role in ''Friday the 13th Part III'' as Jason Voorhees. Career Brooker, a former trapeze artist, started his career in acting in a casting magazine, "Dramalogue".
