East Brabantian
East Brabantian ( nl, Oost Noord-Brabants or Oost Brabants) is one of the main divisions of the Brabantian dialect group recognized by the ''Woordenboek van de Brabantse dialecten''. East Brabantian dialects are mainly spoken in the eastern part of the province of North Brabant. Classifications of Brabantian recognize it as a separate dialect group. Sometimes it is called Meierijs, after the Bailiwick of Den Bosch. East Brabantian dialects are further subdivided into Kempenlands (in a large area east and south east of Eindhoven, including Arendonk and Lommel in Belgium), North Meierijs (in an area south of 's-Hertogenbosch into Eindhoven), Peellands (in Helmond and surroundings), Geldrops and Heeze-and-Leendes. Craig Osaikhwuwuomwan (born October 12, 1990) is a Dutch professional basketball player who last played for Armex Děčín. He is a tall and usually plays the center position. Osaikhwuwuomwan is a former member of the Dutch national basketball team. Professional career On August 3, 2010, Craig signed his first professional contract with ABC Amsterdam in the DBL. He averaged 3,6 points and 3,5 rebounds per game and eventually won the DBL Rookie of the Year award. Antonius Wilhelmus Matthias Theodore van Mierlo (born 24 August 1957), known in England as Tony van Mierlo, is a former Netherlands international footballer who played primarily as a left winger but can also play as a forward. Plaster is a building material used for the protective or decorative coating of walls and ceilings and for moulding and casting decorative elements. Antonius Mathijsen (November 4, 1805 – June 15, 1878) was a Dutch army surgeon who first used plaster of Paris to fixate broken bones in a plaster cast. Biography Early life and education Antonius Mathijsen was born November 4, 1805, to a village physician in Budel, a Dutch town on the Belgian border. Soerendonk
Soerendonk is a village in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It is located in the municipality of Cranendonck. The former Cranendonck Castle used to be located in the village. It is located about south-south-east of Eindhoven. History The village was first mentioned in 1307 as Zurendonc. The etymology is unclear. Soerendonk is a brook valley village which developed in the Late Middle Ages. The Catholic John the Baptist Beheading Church is a Gothic Revival cruciform church built between 1836 and 1838. The tower was added between 1908 and 1910, and the transept and choir were redesigned in 1932. Soerendonk was home to 560 people in 1840. The village used to be part of the municipality Soerendonk, Sterksel en Gastel. In 1925, it was merged with Maarheeze. In 1997, it became part of the municipality of Cranendonck. Maarheeze
Maarheeze is a village in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It is located in the municipality of Cranendonck, about 15 km southeast of Eindhoven, near the Belgian and the German borders. History The village was first mentioned in 1223 as in Marresia. The etymology is unclear. Maarheeze is a church village which developed in the Early Middle Ages. Maarheeze was home to 220 people in 1840. The Catholic St Gertrudis Church was built between 1909 and 1910 and has two towers. In 1913, a railway station was built in Maarheeze, however it closed in 1938 and the building was demolished in 1966. A new railway station was built in 2010. In 1955, a factory was opened by Philips. Maarheeze used to be a separate municipality. It merged with Budel in 1997, and changed its name to Cranendonck.
