Craig Nicholls
Craig Robert Nicholls (born 31 August 1977) is an Australian musician, best known as the lead singer, songwriter, and guitarist of the Australian alternative rock band The Vines, of which he is the sole continuous member. Early life Nicholls was born in Sydney. Terry Nicholls, his father, was the guitarist and vocalist in a 1960s group named The Vynes. He later worked as an accountant for Sony Music Australia. Nicholls has an older brother, Matt, an older sister, Tara, who is a solicitor, and a younger sister, Jessica. Nicholls' father taught him to play guitar during childhood. He spent his free time listening to The Beatles, painting artworks, and skateboarding. He stated, "I grew up a loner... I never socialised. I stayed at home and listened to music all day. "Get Free" is a song by the Australian garage rock band the Vines from their debut album ''Highly Evolved''. The song was released in mid 2002, and remains the Vines' highest-charting single (#7 Billboard Modern Rock, #24 UK Singles Chart).Billboard/ref> Track listing Composition "Get Free" features Nicholls strumming the 5th and 3rd frets for the main riff. Rishikesh, also spelt as Hrishikesh, is a city near Dehradun in Dehradun district of the Indian state Uttarakhand. Ryan Griffiths (guitarist)
Ryan Griffiths (born 14 February 1978) is an Australian musician. From March 2002 to December 2011 he was a member of garage rock band, The Vines. Craig Nicholls, who founded the group, realised while touring for the promotion of their debut album, ''Highly Evolved'' (July 2002), that they needed an additional guitarist. So Nicholls asked his longtime friend and schoolmate Griffiths to join. As a member of The Vines he appeared on four of their studio albums, ''Winning Days'' (March 2004), ''Vision Valley'' (April 2006), '' Melodia'' (July 2008) and '' Future Primitive'' (June 2011). During his tenure Griffiths provided guitars ( acoustic, rhythm or lead), keyboards, percussion and backing vocals before leaving, along with their drummer, Hamish Rosser, in December 2011. David Oliffe
David Vincent Olliffe (born 3 November 1975) is an Australian musician, and the former drummer of The Vines. During the recordings of the band's debut album, ''Highly Evolved'', Olliffe left citing creative differences with band management and the album's producer although it was reported on the band's website that "he didn't enjoy the touring lifestyle." Before leaving, Olliffe had already recorded drum tracks for the songs "Highly Evolved", "Autumn Shade", "Outtathaway", "Sunshinin", "Homesick" (outro only), "Country Yard", "Mary Jane", and "1969" (which he also co-wrote).
