''Covered, A Revolution in Sound'' is a tribute album produced and released by Warner Bros. Records to commemorate its 50th anniversary as a record label. The album consists of some of the greatest hits from previous and current artists from the late 20th century, while the songs featured on the album themselves are performed by current artists that are signed to Warner Bros. Records. Warner's sister label Elektra Records had done something similar to this nearly 20 years before with an album titled '' Rubáiyát: Elektra's 40th Anniversary'', which featured then-current Elektra artists covering other songs originally released on Elektra or sister label Asylum Records. Taking Back Sunday
Taking Back Sunday is an American rock band from Long Island, New York. The band was formed by guitarist Eddie Reyes and bassist Jesse Lacey in 1999. The band's members currently are Adam Lazzara (lead vocals), John Nolan (lead guitar, keyboards, vocals), Shaun Cooper (bass guitar) and Mark O'Connell (drums), accompanied by Nathan Cogan (guitar) for their live performances. The band's former members include Lacey, Reyes, bass guitarist Matthew Rubano, and guitarist and vocalist Fred Mascherino. Lacey quit Taking Back Sunday in 1999 and formed the critically acclaimed rock band Brand New in 2000, with whom Taking Back Sunday would become embroiled in a highly publicized feud. "You Wreck Me" is a song by American musician Tom Petty, the fourth track on his second solo studio album, '' Wildflowers'' (1994). The song was released as the second single from the album and became a concert staple. While the song did not chart on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100, it did peak at number two on the Album Rock Tracks chart. History The music for this song was written by Petty's longtime partner and guitarist Mike Campbell. Petty originally wrote some words to the song and called it "You Rock Me". Campbell thought the title was a little ordinary and very cliché, but the song sounded fine and they recorded it. "Like a Hurricane" is a song written by Neil Young in 1975 and first released on the album ''American Stars 'n Bars'' in 1977. History There is a story that Young wrote the song in July 1975 with the help of his friend and La Honda neighbor Taylor Phelps in the back of his DeSoto Suburban, during a time when Young was unable to sing because of an operation on his vocal cords. James Allen Otto (born July 29, 1973) is an American country music singer and songwriter. Otto began his career on Mercury Nashville Records in 2002, charting three minor singles on the ''Billboard'' Hot Country Songs charts and recording his debut album ''Days of Our Lives'' for the label before being dropped in 2004. Sir George Ivan Morrison (born 31 August 1945), known professionally as Van Morrison, is a Northern Irish singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose recording career spans seven decades.
