Coventry Mall
Coventry Mall (also known as The Shoppes at Coventry) is a shopping mall in North Coventry Township, Pennsylvania (Pottstown, Pennsylvania), located at the interchange of Route 100 and Route 724. The mall is anchored by Boscov's, Kohl's, Gabe's, and Dick's Sporting Goods. History Opened as the Norco Mall in October, 1967, it featured Sears, Britt's Department Store (later Hess's), and Thrift Drug as anchors as well as thirteen smaller retail stores. In 1974 the original open-air plan was enclosed and expanded to include a new anchor store, J.M. Fields, a two-plex movie theater operated by the Fox Theatres chain, and more than a dozen new retail spaces. In 1982 the mall underwent further expansion and a name change to Coventry Mall. J. M. Fields closed and became Jefferson Ward in 1978, and later Bradlees in 1985. North Coventry Township, Pennsylvania
North Coventry Township is a township in Chester County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 7,866 at the 2010 census. History The township derives its name from Coventry, England, the native home of an early settler. The Pottstown Landing Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of , of which is land and , or 1.18%, is water. It is drained by the Schuylkill River, which forms its natural northern boundary with Montgomery County. It is served by Route 724 along the south side of the river east-to-west and Route 100 north-to-south. The Coventry Mall is located at the NW side of the interchange of these two routes. Bradlees Department Store, more commonly known as Bradlees, was a discount department store chain based in Braintree, Massachusetts, which operated primarily in the Northeastern United States. Bradlees sold various retail items in its stores, including clothing, jewelry, health care, beauty products, footwear, furniture, electronics, housewares, and bedding. At its peak in 2000, Bradlees operated over 105 stores in seven states across the Northeast, with close to 10,000 employees. Roses Discount Stores (originally known as Rose's 5¢ 10¢ 25¢ Stores) is a regional discount store in the United States with its headquarters in Henderson, North Carolina. The ''Daily Local News'' is an American daily newspaper based in Chester County, Pennsylvania, also offering limited coverage of neighboring Lancaster and Delaware counties.
