Jennie Lee Courtright
Mary Jane Lee (September 4, 1848 – August 5, 1925), known professionally as Jennie Lee, was an American actress of the stage and screen. Lee appeared in more than 50 films between 1912 and 1924, working especially in character parts under the directors John Ford and D. W. Griffith. She began her stage career at age nine and went on to support such actors as John Edward McCullough, Joseph Jefferson, Edwin Booth, and Helena Modjeska.Motion Picture Studio Directory, 1921, p. 146 She and her husband, actor William Courtright, appeared together in Griffith's ''Intolerance'' (1916). Jim Courtright (gunman)
Timothy Isaiah Courtright (1848 – February 8, 1887), also known as "Longhair Jim" or "Big Jim" Courtright, was a Tarrant County Deputy Sheriff in Ft. Worth, Texas from 1876-1879. In 1887, he was killed in a shootout with gambler and gunfighter Luke Short. Before his death, people feared Courtright's reputation as a gunman, and he successfully reduced Ft. Worth's murder rate by more than half, while reportedly extracting protection money from town business owners. Early life Courtright was born in Sangamon County, Illinois in the spring of 1848, the son of Daniel Courtright. He had four older sisters and one younger brother. James Milton Courtright (December 16, 1914 – February 21, 2003) was a Canadian track and field athlete and Vice Principal of Queen's University. His athletic career included participating in the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin, Germany, and the 1938 British Empire Games (now the Commonwealth Games) in Sydney, Australia, where he captured the gold medal in the javelin throw. Early life Courtright was born in North Bay, Ontario, Canada, where his father worked as a civil engineer. He was the second of five children with an older sister, Celina, and three younger brothers, George, Joseph, and Homer. His brother George became a priest, while his two younger brothers both died fighting for the Canadian Forces during World War II. John Courtright
John Charles Courtright (born May 30, 1970) is a former Major League Baseball pitcher who played for the Cincinnati Reds. Courtright graduated from Marion Harding High School in Marion, Ohio, played college baseball at Duke and was selected in the eighth round of the 1991 Major League Baseball draft by the Reds. In April 1994, while pitching for the Chattanooga Lookouts, Courtright was the first pitcher to face Birmingham Barons outfielder Michael Jordan in a regular season game. He struck Jordan out twice but asked for his autograph on the following day. On May 6, 1995, he and Scott Sullivan were promoted to Cincinnati's Major League roster to replace Willie Greene and Johnny Ruffin. Morris Courtright
Morris "Court" Courtright Jr. (May 2, 1930 – May 29, 2010) was an American politician and a Roman Catholic priest. Courtright was born in Saginaw, Michigan. He served in the United States Air Force, during the Korean War and the Vietnam War, and was commissioned a major. Courtright then moved to Flagstaff, Arizona after he retired from the United States Air Force, He went to Columbia Pacific University and taught at Northern Arizona University. Courtright was involved with broadcasting engineering and the crewed space flights. Courtright served in the Arizona House of Representatives from 1978 to 1983 and was a Republican. Courtright (September 19, 1891 – August 1979) was an American football, basketball, and baseball player, coach of football, basketball, golf, and wrestling, and college athletics administrator. William Courtright (February 10, 1848 – March 6, 1933) was an American film actor. Early years He was born Theodore Courtright in New Milford, Illinois, and was educated in the public schools of Ione, California. When he was 16, he ran away from home to join a stock theater company. Career Courtright's acting career began with Shakespearean plays, as he worked with Lawrence Barrett. Before entering the film industry, he appeared in minstrel shows. He made a world tour as a minstrel, with the tour's activities including performing before King Edward VII. Courtright Reservoir is a reservoir in Fresno County, California. The reservoir is at an elevation of 8,170 feet (2,490 m) in the Sierra National Forest, in the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range, bordering the John Muir Wilderness and the Dinkey Lakes Wilderness. The high Sierra reservoir is formed by Courtright Dam in Helms Creek canyon and has a capacity of . The dam is composed of rock-fill and is 315 feet (96 m) tall, measured from the crest to the original streambed. It was completed in 1958 and is owned by Pacific Gas and Electric. In 1984 the Helms Pumped Storage Powerhouse was added to the reservoir allowing it to pump water from Wishon to Courtright. Its primary purpose is hydroelectricity production. The lake is an "off-river" (or "off-channel") storage reservoir. Luke Lamar Short (January22, 1854September8, 1893) was an American Old West gunfighter, cowboy, U.S. Army scout, dispatch rider, gambler, boxing promoter, and saloon owner.
