Courtney Winfield-Hill
Courtney Winfield-Hill (; born 9 January 1987) is an Australian born sportswoman who formerly played rugby league for and Leeds Rhinos. Originally Winfield-Hill played cricket as a pace bowler for Queensland Fire and Brisbane Heat, before moving sports and countries to play rugby league. Sporting career Nicknamed "Corker" because her younger sister had difficulty pronouncing her name as a toddler, Winfield-Hill was born in Maryborough, Queensland. She was raised in Monto, Queensland, and in Rockhampton, where she also learned to play cricket. In November 2009, Winfield-Hill made her debut for Queensland Fire. In 2011, she moved to the Sunshine Coast to pursue a career in professional cricket. Injury prevented Winfield-Hill from having much of an impact on the 2011–12 Women's National Cricket League season. Lauren Winfield-Hill (; born 16 August 1990) is an English cricketer who currently plays for Yorkshire, Northern Diamonds, Oval Invincibles, Melbourne Stars and England. She plays as a right-handed batter and occasional wicket-keeper. She made her international debut in 2013, and was part of the England team that won the 2017 World Cup. She has previously played for Northern Superchargers in The Hundred and Brisbane Heat, Hobart Hurricanes and Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash. 2015–16 Women's Big Bash League Season
The 2015–16 Women's Big Bash League season or WBBL, 01 was the first season of the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL), the semi-professional women's Twenty20 domestic cricket competition in Australia. The tournament ran from 5 December 2015 to 24 January 2016. In the final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, the Sydney Thunder (WBBL), Sydney Thunder defeated cross-town rivals, the Sydney Sixers (WBBL), Sydney Sixers, to win the inaugural championship title. Thunder all-rounder Erin Osborne managed bowling figures of 3/21 in the decider and was named Player of the Final. 2020 NRL Nines
The 2020 NRL Nines was the fifth edition of the NRL Nines rugby league nines and the first one hosted outside of Auckland. It was played at HBF Park, Perth on 14–15 February 2020. Just like previous tournaments, it was contested by all 16 National Rugby League teams, but for the first time, the four NRL Women's Premiership teams played as well, as opposed to the Jillaroos and Kiwi Ferns like in former editions. The men's tournament was split into four pools of four teams (1, 2, 3 & 4) and then into two groups of two teams in each pool (A & B). Each side was initially to play two games, against the teams from the other group of their pool. The top two teams in each pool then played off in a knockout-style tournament. The women's tournament, meanwhile, was a round-robin with each team playing three games, one against each of the others, before the top two teams met in the final. The Sydney Roosters are an Australian professional Rugby League Football Club based in the Eastern Suburbs (Sydney) and parts of inner Sydney. The club competes in the National Rugby League (NRL) competition. The Roosters have won fifteen New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL) and National Rugby League titles, and several other competitions. The Woman of Steel (known as the Telegraph Woman of Steel for sponsorship reasons) is an award in English rugby league. It is awarded to the player of the year in the Women's Super League; the winner is determined by a poll of the players in the Women's Super League. The award was inaugurated in 2018 and the winner will be announced as part of the Steve Prescott Man of Steel Awards in October each year. Lois Forsell
Lois Forsell (born 26 July 1991) is a retired English international rugby league footballer who played as a for Leeds Rhinos Women in the Women's Super League. Forsell has also played for Bradford Bulls Women and Hunslet at club level, and has also represented Yorkshire. Playing career Forsell joined Hunslet Ladies (then known as Middleton) before moving to Bradford Bulls in 2012. In 2017 Forsell was a member of the Bradford Bulls team that completed the treble - winning the Grand Final, League Leaders Shield and Challenge Cup in the same season - and went unbeaten all season. Forsell was named Player of the Match in the inaugural Grand Final. 2018 RFL Women's Super League
The 2018 RFL Women's Super League was the second season of the rugby league Women's Super League for female players in clubs affiliated to the Rugby Football League. The grand final was won by Wigan Warriors Women, who beat Leeds Rhinos Women 18–16 at the Grand Final at the Manchester Regional Arena. Wigan finished second to League Leaders Shield winners Leeds in the regular season. The defending champions were Bradford Bulls Women, but they failed to make the play-offs in 2018. At the end of the regular season, the top four teams met in the play-off semi-finals. First placed Leeds beat fourth placed Castleford, while second placed Wigan beat St Helens who finished third. The 2018 RFL Women's Challenge Cup was an English rugby league knockout tournament competed for by 21 teams during the summer of 2018. The competition was won by Leeds Rhinos who beat Castleford Tigers 20–14 in the final at the Halliwell Jones Stadium on 4 August 2018. Preliminary round The preliminary round ties were played in early May. First round The first round ties were all played on 3 June.
