Alachua County ( ) is a county in the north central portion of the U.S. state of Florida. As of the 2020 census, the population was 278,468. Trenton is a city in Gilchrist County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,999 as of the 2010 census, and in 2018 it was estimated to be 2,125. It is the county seat of Gilchrist County.
