Dana Countryman
Dana Countryman is an American electronic music composer, songwriter and performer notable for his sustained presence in the Music of Seattle, Seattle Pop scene as well as his collaborations with France, French electropop artist Jean-Jacques Perrey. He is also well known as songwriter and performer for ''The Amazing Pink Things'' (1985–1991). as well as the publisher for ''Cool and Strange Music Magazine'' (1996–2003). Countryman is currently composing, performing and releasing original albums of retro vocal pop. Reviewer John Borack has described Countryman as "a one-man Brill Building (genre), Brill Building," in reference to the New York-based songwriting and recording scene of the 1960s. Dayton Countryman
Dayton Wendell Countryman (March 31, 1918 – September 13, 2011) was an American attorney, farmer, and politician who served as the 26th Attorney General of Iowa from 1955 to 1957. Early life and education Born in Sioux City, Iowa, Countryman attended Pierson High School. He then received his bachelor's degree in forestry from Iowa State University in 1940. During World War II, Countryman served in the United States Army Air Forces as a pilot and was commissioned lieutenant colonel. He then graduated from the University of Iowa College of Law in 1948 and was admitted to the Iowa bar. Career Countryman practiced law in Nevada, Iowa. From 1950 to 1954, Countryman served as attorney for Story County, Iowa as a member of the Republican party. From 1955 to 1957, Countryman served as Attorney General of Iowa. Gratia Countryman
Gratia Alta Countryman (pronounced gray-sha) (November 26, 1866 – July 26, 1953) was a nationally-known librarian who led the Minneapolis Public Library from 1904 to 1936. She was the daughter of immigrant farmers Alta and Levi Countryman. She pioneered many ways to make the library more accessible and user-friendly to all of the city's residents, regardless of age or economic position.
