Country Week
Country Week or Country Senior High Schools Carnival is an annual multi-sport event carnival held in Perth, Western Australia between rural high schools from Western Australia. The carnival is organised by School Sport WA. The carnival includes sports such as Australian rules football, hockey, soccer, netball, volleyball and basketball in a range of divisions. Non-sporting competitions in areas such as speech, debating and dance have also been added to the event schedule. Country Week is recognised as being the biggest event of its kind in the southern hemisphere. The event typically involves about 40 schools with around 3,000 students and over 200 teachers and support staff. The carnival is held toward the end of the second school term in late June and early July and lasts for one week. Perry Lakes Stadium
Perry Lakes Stadium was a multi-purpose stadium adjacent to Perry Lakes Reserve, Perry Lakes in Floreat, Western Australia. It was built and funded by the State Government and the City of Perth in 1962 for the 1962 British Empire and Commonwealth Games and had a nominal capacity of 30,000. Many other events had been held at Perry Lakes Stadium over the years such as the sport of athletics, athletics, soccer and rugby football, rugby. It has been redeveloped into a residential site and the facility has been replaced by the Western Australian Athletics Stadium, which was constructed on the southern side of Underwood Avenue, which opened nearby in March 2009. Eastern Goldfields College
Eastern Goldfields College is a public co-educational high day school, located in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. It is located on the Curtin University campus in Kalgoorlie and shares many facilities with the University. The College accepts year 11 and 12 students from across the Goldfields region. History The school was formerly a part of Eastern Goldfields Senior High School, but the school split in 2006 onto two separate campuses. The original site on Boomerang Crescent became Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community High School with classes for years 7-10. Senior students were moved to the local Curtin University campus and the students benefited from the high quality university facilities that were made available to them, particularly in the areas of trade and hospitality. Subiaco, Western Australia
Subiaco (known colloquially as Subi) is an inner-Western suburbs (Perth), western suburb of Perth, the capital of Western Australia. Netball is a ball sport played on a court by two teams of seven players. It is among a rare number of sports which have been created exclusively for female competitors. Western Australian Athletics Stadium
The Western Australian Athletics Stadium is a sports stadium in Perth, Western Australia. It is the main facility for the sport of athletics in Perth. It was constructed to replace the ageing Perry Lakes Stadium nearby, which had been in use since the 1962 British Empire and Commonwealth Games. The WA Basketball Centre (also known by its sponsored name, the Bendat Basketball Centre) is a multi-purpose stadium located in Perth, Western Australia. The stadium features eight courts, including two basketball show courts with 1,100 permanent seats and 900 retractable seats, and a six-court sports hall with multi-sport line markings. Facilities cater primarily for basketball, in addition to netball, volleyball and badminton.
