''Counting to Zero'' is the eighth studio album by Collide, released on September 27, 2011 by Noiseplus Music. Reception I Die:You Die described ''Counting to Zero'' as "a natural evolution away from their noisier days" and "Collide’s music has always been "deep", however one wants to take that term (the trip-hop elements of their sound, for example, are still in full effect), and it's encouraging to see them finding new ways to stay true to and explore the particular combination of mystique and virtuosity which has made them such an endearing and enduring force for all these years." Collide (band)
Collide is an American industrial music duo formed in Los Angeles in 1992, that has incorporated elements of trip hop, synthpop and music from the Middle East into their sound. The name comes from the 'collision' of musical styles, primarily the ethereal vocals provided by kaRIN and the electronic music provided by Statik. Collide's debut album, '' Beneath the Skin'', was released in 1996, followed by a remix album, ''Distort'', in 1998 containing remixes by artists such as Kneel Cohn of the bands Spirits In Sin and The Dead Stars On Hollywood. Dissatisfied with the music industry, Collide started their own record label, Noiseplus Music, and in 2000, they released their second studio album, ''Chasing the Ghost''. Dean Garcia (born 3 May 1958) is an English multi-instrumentalist musician, best known as a member of the alternative rock duo Curve from 1990 to 2005. He also released solo work and collaborated with many other artists. Biography Garcia was born in London, England, from a Hawaiian, Irish and English background. He had played in some small bands when he auditioned for Eurythmics.
