Alan George Weall Coulthard
His Honour Alan George Weall Coulthard (20 January 1924 – 25 June 1988), was a British judge, broadcaster, writer and Liberal Party politician. Background Coulthard was a son of George Robert Coulthard and Cicely Eva Minns. His older brother was Air Vice-Marshal Colin Weal Coulthard. He was educated at Watford Grammar School. In 1948 he married Jacqueline Anna James. They had two sons and two daughters. Professional career Coulthard was a pilot in the RAF from 1941–46 with the rank of Flight-Lieutenant. After the war he was a 1st Officer with BOAC from 1946–48 and a Pilot and Staff Officer in the RAF from 1948–58. In 1959 he changed to a career in law. He was Called to Bar by the Inner Temple and practised at Swansea from 1959–81. In 1970 he was made an Assistant Recorder and in 1972 he became a Recorder of the Crown Court. He served as Hon. Publius Terentius Afer (; – ), better known in English as Terence (), was a Roman African playwright during the Roman Republic. His comedies were performed for the first time around 166–160 BC. Terentius Lucanus, a Roman senator, brought Terence to Rome as a slave, educated him and later on, impressed by his abilities, freed him. It is thought that Terence abruptly died, around the age of 25, likely in Greece or on his way back to Rome, due to shipwreck or disease. Mount Coulthard
Mount Coulthard is a mountain straddling the border between Alberta and British Columbia in Canada. It is part of the Flathead Range which is a subset of the Canadian Rockies. The mountain is set on the Continental Divide, in Castle Wildland Provincial Park. It is situated in the Crowsnest Pass area and can be seen from Highway 3, the Crowsnest Highway. Mount Coulthard is named after Major Robert Wilson Coulthard (born December 6, 1875), a prominent Canadian mining engineer. He was general manager of the West Canadian Coal Company, engineer at Crow's Nest Pass Coal Company from 1901–1908, and a Major with the 2nd Canadian Tunnelling Company. Black, Hawthorn and Company was a steam locomotive manufacturer with a works situated in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, UK. John Coulthard and Son The Quarry Field Works was opened in 1835 by John and Ralph Coulthard, known as John Coulthard and Son which became R. Gillian Coultard (born 22 July 1963) is an English former football player, and former England captain. She is one of England Women's most capped internationals, with 119 appearances, and was the highest capped outfield England international ever until Rachel Yankey reached 120 caps in 2012. At the time she was one of only five footballers (Bobby Moore, Billy Wright, Bobby Charlton and Peter Shilton were the others) to have reached over 100 caps for England, and she was the first woman and amateur player to have done so. Faith Thomas
Faith Thomas (; 22 February 1933 – 15 April 2023), born Tinnipha, was an Australian cricketer and hockey player. She was also a nurse in regional South Australia. Thomas is known for being the first Indigenous woman to represent Australia in any sport as well as her distinguished service to the Australian Indigenous community. Early life Thomas was born at the Nepabunna Aboriginal Mission in South Australia. Her mother, Ivy, was an Adnyamathanha woman and her father was German. Her mother would take her to the Colebrook Home for Aboriginal Children in Quorn when she was a baby. She would play cricket with other children at Colebrook using stones as balls, and making bats from wood they found. Belinda Noonan, née Coulthard (born in 1957) is an Australian former competitive figure skater. Competing in ladies' singles, she won silver at the 1977 Golden Spin of Zagreb, bronze at a 1978 competition in Heerenveen, and the Australian national title during the 1979–1980 season. Career Coulthard first stepped on the ice as a two-year-old, at the Bondi Junction rink. She grew interested in skating at age seven, after the opening of the Burwood ice rink. Flinders Ranges
The Flinders Ranges are the largest mountain range in South Australia, which starts about north of Adelaide. The ranges stretch for over from Port Pirie to Lake Callabonna. The Adnyamathanha people are the Aboriginal group who have inhabited the range for tens of thousands of years. Its most well-known landmark is Wilpena Pound / Ikara, a formation that creates a natural amphitheatre covering and containing the range's highest peak, St Mary Peak (). The ranges include several national parks, the largest being the Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park, as well as other protected areas. Iga Warta
Nepabunna, also spelt Nipapanha, is a small community in the northern Flinders Ranges in north-eastern South Australia, about north of Adelaide. It is located just west of the Gammon Ranges, and the traditional owners are the Adnyamathanha people. The settlement was originally established as Nepabunna Mission in 1931, becoming the local government area (LGA) of Nepabunna Community Council with the establishment of a council in 1998. Iga Warta is a separate, independently run small cultural tourism enterprise within the LGA. The Nipabanha Community Aboriginal Corporation runs the Indigenous Protected Area (IPA) over land known as Nantawarrina, once a station for mixed livestock.
