Could It Happen Here
''Could It Happen Here?'' ( it, Italia: ultimo atto?) is a 1977 Italian political fiction thriller film written and directed by Massimo Pirri. Plot Rome, 1977. In a more and more confused climate, between popular discontent and difficulties of the government, a terrorist group is training his men in anticipation of a major military action: the elimination of the Minister of the Interior. At one point, the organization decides to abandon the plan, as it is believed that a massacre would not improve the condition of the poorer classes. But Mara, the daughter of a wealthy businessman, Ferruccio, a young professor, and Bruno, a drifter guy, do not want to withdraw. On their own initiative they will make the attempt, which will be end into a massacre. The minister dies, and with him many members of his entourage as well as the same Bruno. Mara and Ferruccio manage to escape through a Rome becoming lawless. Once in a den they eventually opt to shoot each other, while outside the tanks ...

Massimo Pirri
Massimo Pirri (10 November 1945 – 20 June 2001) was an Italian film director and screenwriter. Life and career Born in Campagnano di Roma, Pirri entered the cinema industry as an actor, playing very minor roles while he was completing his engineering degree, and then he worked as an assistant director of Luciano Emmer and Folco Quilici. In 1972 he made his directorial debut with the documentary film ''La mattanza'', which was followed by several other documentaries. In 1975 he directed the first of his five feature films, ''Calamo'', the provocative story of a rebellious seminarist who is discovering sex. In 1977 he directed his most known film, ''Italia: Ultimo atto?'', one of the first with the links of Italian terrorists and the police apparatus, and one year later he directed the controversial ''L'immoralità'', the unusual story of a young girl in love with a serial killer. Ines Pellegrini (born on 7 November 1954) is an Italian retired actress of Eritrean origin. Life and career Though born in Milan, Pelligrini spent her childhood in Eritrea, attending Italian schools, before returning to Italy with her adoptive father in the 1970s.
