Charles Walemon "Cotton" Price (May 31, 1918 – September 24, 2008) was an American football quarterback, running back and defensive back. He attended Newcastle High School in Newcastle, Texas. Newcastle is a city in Young County, Texas, United States. Following the beginning of coal mining in 1908, the town was established and named for the English coal town, Newcastle upon Tyne. The All-America Football Conference (AAFC) was a professional American football league that challenged the established National Football League (NFL) from 1946 to 1949. One of the NFL's most formidable challengers, the AAFC attracted many of the nation's best players, and introduced many lasting innovations to the game.
