Cota (power)
"Cota" is the name for a patented technology designed to deliver wireless power, it was developed by Ossia Inc. The technology sends radio waves at a frequency of 2.4GHz, which are then received by a receiver device equipped with a Cota chip. The receiver converts the radio waves into usable electrical power, which can then be used to charge batteries or power electronic devices. One of the key advantages of Cota is that it can transmit power over distances of several meters, even through obstacles such as walls and furniture. This makes it a potentially useful technology for powering devices in homes, offices, and public spaces without wires or cables. Features Cota can detect the position of a power receiver within its network and focus a signal to only that position, enabling up to 1 watt of power to be transmitted wirelessly. Since the charging hub can detect, focus, and send the signal to a specific point in the 3-dimensional space, there is no risk of injury compared to ...

Microwave Power Transmission
Wireless power transfer (WPT), wireless power transmission, wireless energy transmission (WET), or electromagnetic power transfer is the transmission of electrical energy without wires as a physical link. In a wireless power transmission system, a transmitter device, driven by electric power from a power source, generates a time-varying electromagnetic field, which transmits power across space to a receiver device, which extracts power from the field and supplies it to an electrical load. The technology of wireless power transmission can eliminate the use of the wires and batteries, thus increasing the mobility, convenience, and safety of an electronic device for all users. Wireless power transfer is useful to power electrical devices where interconnecting wires are inconvenient, hazardous, or are not possible. Wireless power techniques mainly fall into two categories, near field and far-field. In '' near field'' or ''non-radiative'' techniques, power is transferred over sho ...

Qi (inductive Power Standard)
Qi (pronounced ; from the Chinese word 气 qi; traditional Chinese: 氣) is an open interface standard that defines wireless power transfer using inductive charging over distances of up to 4 cm (1.6 inches). It is developed by the Wireless Power Consortium. The system uses a charging pad and a compatible device, which is placed on top of the pad, charging via resonant inductive coupling. As of February 2020, there are 488 manufacturers working with the standard including Apple, Asus, Google, Huawei, LG Electronics, Samsung, Xiaomi, and Sony. First released in 2008, the Qi standard was incorporated into more than 200 smartphones, tablets and other devices by 2017. Design left, Fig. 1-1 Devices that operate using the Qi standard rely on electromagnetic induction between planar coils. A Qi system consists of two types of devices – the Base Station, which is connected to a power source and provides inductive power, and Mobile Devices, which consume inductive power. The ...

Federal Communications Commission
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is an independent agency of the United States federal government that regulates communications by radio, television, wire, satellite, and cable across the United States. The FCC maintains jurisdiction over the areas of broadband access, fair competition, radio frequency use, media responsibility, public safety, and homeland security. The FCC was formed by the Communications Act of 1934 to replace the radio regulation functions of the Federal Radio Commission. The FCC took over wire communication regulation from the Interstate Commerce Commission. The FCC's mandated jurisdiction covers the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the territories of the United States. The FCC also provides varied degrees of cooperation, oversight, and leadership for similar communications bodies in other countries of North America. The FCC is funded entirely by regulatory fees. It has an estimated fiscal-2022 budget of US $388 million. It has 1,482 ...
