Costanza D'Avalos, Duchess Of Francavilla
Costanza d'Avalos (1460–1541), Duchess of Francavilla, was an Italian ruler. She was the ruler of the Duchy of Francavilla between 1501 and 1541. Life She was the daughter of Innico I d'Avalos of the Spanish d'Avalos family, count of Monteodorisio, and Antonella d'Aquino, heiress to the marquisate of Pescara. Her father had come to Italy with Alfonso V of Aragon in 1442. She was given in marriage to Federico del Balzo, Prince of Altamura and Duke of Venosa, son of Pietro del Balzo and brother of the Queen of Naples, Isabella. Costanza Chiaramonte ( – 1423) was a queen consort of Naples in 1389-1392, married to King Ladislaus of Naples. With changing political circumstances, their marriage was annulled. Life Costanza was a daughter of Manfredi III Chiaramonte, count of Modica and Malta, and a powerful figure in Palermo. Costanza Ghilini (1754–1775) was an Italian amateur painter. Born in Alessandria, Ghilini was a member of the noble Provana di Collegno family; her parents may have been Vittorio Amedeo Ghilini, marchese di Maranzana and his wife, née Gabriella Maria Teresa dal Pozzo, but this is unconfirmed. She is recorded as having worked in pastel and oil, and to have been a fine performer on the mandolin as well. Costanza Starace
Blessed Costanza Starace (5 September 1845 – 13 September 1921) was an Italian Roman Catholic nun. She was the founder of the religious congregation known as the Compassionist Sisters Servants of Mary. Starace later assumed the new name of "Maria Maddalena of the Passion" upon the occasion of her solemn profession. She became a secular member of the Servite Order after she failed to join a religious order. Starace devoted her life to Jesus Christ and to the Mother of God in her mission to evangelize and provide relief to the ill - this was evident during a series of cholera outbreaks near Naples. She established her order to assist in proving relief and extending that service to the poor. She was beatified on 15 April 2007. Costanza Varano (1426–1447) was a noted humanist, scholar, and writer in early modern Italy. She is regarded as "one of the best known learned women" of the mid-15th century. Life and education Varano was the first child born to Pier Gentile da Varano, lord of Camerino, and Elisabetta Malatesta. She was born in Camerino in 1426. Her father was lord of Camerino until his death in 1433, while her mother was the daughter of scholar Battista da Montefeltro Malatesta and Galeazzo Malatesta, lord of Pesaro until 1444.
