José Fernando Cosculluela Suárez (born October 15, 1980), known professionally as Cosculluela, is a Puerto Rican rapper, singer and songwriter. In 2018, he was caught up in a controversy after fellow Puerto Rican rapper Anuel AA released a diss track. Early life and education Cosculluela was born in Puerto Rico from Puerto Rican mother and Cuban father. He came from an upper-class family and was raised in the gated community of Palmas del Mar. At a young age, Cosculluela became interested in tennis and eventually played for his high school, ''Colegio San Antonio Abad.'' He also developed passions for golf and surfing. Career At the age of sixteen, Cosculluela began producing underground mixtapes with his brother Jaime and his friends. Emmanuel Gazmey Santiago (born November 26, 1992), known professionally as Anuel AA, is a Puerto Rican rapper and singer. His music often contains samples and interpolations of songs that were popular during his youth. He is seen as a controversial figure in the Latin music scene for his legal troubles and feuds with fellow Puerto Rican rappers Cosculluela and Ivy Queen and with fellow American rapper 6ix9ine. Latin trap is a subgenre of Trap music, trap music that originated in Puerto Rico. A direct descendant of southern hip hop, and influenced by reggaeton, it gained popularity after 2007, and has since spread throughout Latin America. ''The trap'' is slang for a place where drugs are sold. Latin trap is similar to mainstream trap with lyrics about life on ''la calle'' (the street), drugs, sex and violence, without censorship. José Fernando Morales Rivera (born August 19, 1984), known as Kendo Kaponi, is a Puerto Rican rapper and singer. In 2018, he was arrested in Coamo on charges of armed burglary and assault in Florida, where he subsequently served two years in prison. Personal life Kaponi's life was tragic in many ways. With no family to care for him, he had begun to live in foster homes from when he was seven years old. His parents were drug addicts. He discovered his father's identity at same father's funeral. His mother was a heroin addict. Kaponi was raised by his grandmother until she died of cancer and was then put into foster care because no one in his family wanted to take up his care. Israel Perales Ortiz (September 1, 1972 – July 23, 2015) better known by his stage name Mexicano 777, was a Puerto Rican rapper who gained fame across Latin America, and in the United States.
