Cory Mack
Cory Mack is a Canadian comedian, emcee, writer and producer based in Calgary, Alberta. Biography Mack is originally from Dodsland, Saskatchewan, where she grew up as a farmer's daughter. She moved to Calgary in the early 1980s and began performing stand-up comedy in 1989. She had a ''Comedy Now'' television special, has performed at Just for Laughs and other comedy festivals, and was featured on CBC Radio's ''Madly Off in All Directions'', ''The Go Show!'', and '' The Debaters''. From 2003 to 2006, Mack directed ''Dirty Laundry'', Calgary's long-running improvised soap opera. In 2005, Mack was nominated for the Canadian Comedy Awards (CCAs) for best female stand-up and for her taped performance '' Yuk Yuk's Calgary Stampede''. Harry Doupe
Harry Doupe is a Canadian stand-up comedian, producer, and writer from Fort Langley, British Columbia. He has performed shows at clubs, theatres, and arenas across North America. He was the first comedian to perform three times at Toronto's Air Canada Centre, MC-ing shows for The Tragically Hip on their New Year's Eve 1999 and New Year's Day 2000 shows, as well as opening for "Weird Al" Yankovic on his "Running With Scissors" Tour. 2012 Alberta General Election
The 2012 Alberta general election was held on April 23, 2012, to elect members of the 28th Legislative Assembly of Alberta. A Senate nominee election was called for the same day. During the 2011 Progressive Conservative Association leadership election, eventual winner Alison Redford stated that if she became Premier she intended to pass legislation setting a fixed election date. After taking office, her government introduced a bill relating to the timing of elections, which was passed on December 6, 2011. Unlike other fixed election date legislation in Canada, the 2011 Election Amendment Act fixes the election to a three-month period, between March 1 and May 31 in the fourth calendar year. However, like other legislation, this does not affect the powers of the Lieutenant Governor to dissolve the Legislature before this period. The writs of elections were dropped March 26, 2012. Calgary-Buffalo is a current provincial electoral district in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The district is one of 87 districts mandated to return a single member (MLA) to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta using the first past the post method of voting. Calgary-Buffalo is currently represented by NDP MLA Joe Ceci. The riding comprises primarily the downtown core of the city of Calgary. The riding has broad demographic diversity, and comprises the most transient population in Alberta.
