Cory Allen (rugby Player)
Cory Allen (born 11 February 1993) is a retired Welsh international rugby union player. A centre or wing, he played for Cardiff Blues and the Ospreys (rugby union), Ospreys. Allen joined the Dragons RFC, Dragons in 2021, but did not feature for the side. Club career At age 18, Allen made his professional debut for Cardiff Blues in October 2011, starting against Newcastle Falcons in the Anglo-Welsh Cup. Allen was named man of the match on 20 April 2014, as Cardiff beat the Scarlets 17–13 at the Millennium Stadium in the annual Judgement Day (rugby union), Judgement Day match. Allen joined the Ospreys in 2017, after six years with Cardiff. While with the Ospreys, Allen suffered a serious knee injury in September 2019, and did not feature for the club again prior to his release in 2021. In 2021, Allen joined Dragons RFC. Soon after joining, he suffered a further setback on his injury recovery. Allen never featured for the Dragons, announcing his retirement on 29 December 2022. ... Judgement Day (rugby Union)
Judgement Day () is an annual Welsh Rugby Union event that takes place at Millennium Stadium (currently known for sponsorship reasons as Principality Stadium) in Cardiff and is part of the United Rugby Championship competition. The four regions – Cardiff Rugby, Dragons, Ospreys and Scarlets – join with the Welsh Rugby Union in organising a double-header fixture at the Millennium Stadium. The annual derby day clash will be repeated for the foreseeable future with the two east Wales regions taking on the two west Wales regions. In 2020, the two matches were held on consecutive days at Rodney Parade due to the COVID-19 pandemic causing a change to the format of the 2019–20 season and the Millennium Stadium being unavailable due to it being used as the Dragon's Heart Hospital. In 2017, the Wales national rugby union team's summer tour saw them play test matches against Tonga on 16 June and Samoa on 23 June. The match against Tonga was played in Auckland, New Zealand, due to concerns over the state of Teufaiva Sport Stadium in Nukuʻalofa. Wales won the match 24–6, before beating Samoa 19–17 in Apia.
