Coronel (Crnl.) FAP Francisco Secada Vignetta International Airport is an airport serving Iquitos, capital of Loreto Region and Peru's fifth largest city. It is also known as Iquitos International Airport, and is one of the main airports in Peru. It is located 7 km (4 miles) to the southeast of the center of Iquitos. It has a single runway 2,500 m (8,202 ft) in length. It is administered by Aeropuertos del Perú, who were given the concession in 2006; and serves more than 1 million passengers per year, making it the fourth busiest airport in Peru, after those of Lima, Cusco and Arequipa. It is the only airport in Amazonia with the ISO9001 stamp. It is served by airlines such as JetSmart Perú, LATAM Perú, Sky Airline, Star Perú and SAETA Perú, receiving commercial flights daily from Lima, as well as flights to and from Pucallpa and Tarapoto. The Ferrocarril Central Andino (FCCA; the former Ferrocarril Central del Perú) runs inland from Callao and Lima across the Andes watershed to La Oroya and Huancayo. It is the second highest railway in the world (following opening of the Qingzang railway in Tibet), with the Galera summit tunnel under Mount Meiggs at and Galera station at above sea level. In 1955 the railway opened a spur line from La Cima on the Morococha branch ( above sea level) to Volcán Mine, reaching an (at the time) world record altitude of . Alférez FAP Alfredo Vladimir Sara Bauer Airport (official name Alférez FAP Vladimir Sara Bauer Airport) is a small regional airport serving Andoas, in the northern Loreto Region of Peru. It is currently not served by any scheduled airline but it is by private and charter airlines. The airport is less than in from the Pastaza River and is downstream from the Peruvian border with Ecuador. The airport is named after Vladimir Enrique Sara Bauer, who died in a helicopter accident on October 6, 1977.
