Corné Van Kessel
Corné van Kessel (born 7 August 1991) is a Dutch professional cyclo-cross and road cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Cyclo-cross team Team Deschacht–Group Hens–Containers Maes. Career Van Kessel was born in Veldhoven. After spending his first years with the Belgian Lotto Olympia Tienen team, he switched to from September 2009 on, first in the development team and since 2013 as an elite rider. In October 2013, he extended his contract with the Telenet–Fidea team until the end of 2016. Brico Cross
The Exact Cross is a season-long cyclo-cross competition, formerly known as the Ethias Cross and the Brico Cross, consisting of 8 rounds throughout the season in Belgium and the Netherlands. It is one of six season-long competitions, alongside the UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup, Cyclo-cross Superprestige, the X²O Badkamers Trophy (formerly known as the DVV Trophy, before that the BPost Bank Trophy and before that as the Gazet van Antwerpen trophy), the EKZ CrossTour and the Toi Toi Cup. 2016–17 UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup
The 2016–2017 UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup – also known as the Telenet UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup for sponsorship reasons – was a season long cyclo-cross competition, organised by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). The competition took place between 21 September 2016 and 22 January 2017, over a total of nine events. The defending champions were Wout van Aert in the men's competition and Sanne Cant in the women's competition. Van Aert was able to defend his World Cup title with a round to spare, not finishing any lower than second in the seven races – four wins and three second-place finishes – prior to his crowning. His main rival Mathieu van der Poel was the only other rider to take victories prior to the title being won, taking three straight wins during the season, but he missed several meetings, including the Memorial Romano Scotti in Rome, which allowed van Aert to take the title. 2014–15 UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup
The 2014–2015 UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup events and season-long competition took place between 10 October 2014 and 26 January 2014, organised by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). The men's competition took place without the Belgian Niels Albert, twice the winner, who announced his retirement from the sport in May, 2014 because of a heart condition. Katie Compton of the United States had dominated the women's competition last year and was attempting to defend her title. The third round held in Milton Keynes, England was notable for being the first time that a World Cup event had been held outside of mainland Europe. The 2012–2013 Cyclo-cross Superprestige events and season-long competition took place between 7 October 2012 and 16 February 2013. Sven Nys won it for the 12th time, leading the classification from start to finish. Results Season standings In each race, the top 15 riders gain points, going from 15 points for the winner decreasing by one point per position to 1 point for the rider finishing in 15th position.
