2014–15 UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup
The 2014–2015 UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup events and season-long competition took place between 10 October 2014 and 26 January 2014, organised by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). The men's competition took place without the Belgian Niels Albert, twice the winner, who announced his retirement from the sport in May, 2014 because of a heart condition. Katie Compton of the United States had dominated the women's competition last year and was attempting to defend her title. The third round held in Milton Keynes, England was notable for being the first time that a World Cup event had been held outside of mainland Europe. Events In comparison to last season's seven races, this season only had six. Rome, Nommay and Tábor were taken out of the programme – the latter ultimately hosting the World Championships – while Milton Keynes was added and Hoogerheide is back after hosting the 2014 World Championships . Kevin Pauwels
Kevin Pauwels (born 12 April 1984 in Ekeren) is a Belgian former professional racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2004 and 2019 for the and teams. Pauwels retired on 24 February 2019 after winning the Sluitingsprijs Oostmalle. Pauwels' elder brother, Tim Pauwels was also a professional cyclo-cross racer but died during a race in Erpe-Mere in 2004. Lars van der Haar (born 23 July 1991 in Amersfoort, Netherlands) is a Dutch professional cyclo-cross and road cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Continental team . Career Van der Haar joined the development team of the professional squad, for the 2014 season. He was subsequently promoted to the senior team for the 2015 season. Corné van Kessel (born 7 August 1991) is a Dutch professional cyclo-cross and road cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Cyclo-cross team Team Deschacht–Group Hens–Containers Maes. Career Van Kessel was born in Veldhoven. After spending his first years with the Belgian Lotto Olympia Tienen team, he switched to from September 2009 on, first in the development team and since 2013 as an elite rider. Eva Lechner
Eva Lechner (born 1 July 1985) is an Italian multi-discipline cyclist, who has won at least one national title in cyclo-cross, road bicycle racing and mountain bike racing. She won the team relay at the 2012 Mountain bike World Championships together with Luca Braidot, Marco Aurelio Fontana and Beltain Schmid. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she competed in the Women's cross-country finishing in 17th place. At the 2008 Summer Olympics she finished 16th in the Women's cross-country. She was on the start list of 2018 Cross-Country European Championships and finished 8th. Mathieu Van Der Poel
Mathieu van der Poel (born 19 January 1995) is a Dutch cyclist who rides for the UCI ProTeam . He competes in the cyclo-cross, mountain bike racing, gravel cycling, and road bicycle racing disciplines of the sport and is best known for winning the Cyclo-cross World Championships in Tábor in 2015, Bogense in 2019, Dübendorf in 2020 and Ostend in 2021, the Junior Road Race World Championships in Florence in 2013, and twice winning the Junior Cyclo-cross World Championships, in Koksijde in 2012 and Louisville in 2013; the first rider to win multiple titles at that level. Marianne Vos (; born 13 May 1987) is a Dutch multi-discipline cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . After winning a junior European and World Championship in road racing, she continued her success in senior cycling by becoming World Champion in cyclo-cross and road racing at the age of 19. Vos added track racing World Championships when she won the points race in 2008 and the scratch race in 2011. Kateřina Nash (née Hanušová; born 9 December 1977) is a Czech cross-country skier and cyclist who competed from 1994 to 2003 in skiing and is still active in cycling for the Clif Pro Team. Competing in two Winter Olympics, she finished sixth in the 4 × 5 km relay at Nagano in 1998 and had her best individual finish of 20th in the 15 km event in Salt Lake City in 2002.
