Cornwall Cricket Club
The Cornwall Cricket Club, known formally as the Cornwall Districts Cricket and Sports Association Incorporated, is a cricket club which was founded in 1895 in Auckland, New Zealand as Ponsonby Cricket Club. It claims the largest membership of any cricket club in New Zealand. The club's cricket ground is in Cornwall Park opposite the showgrounds at 210 Green Lane West, Epsom where it has been since 1952. Cornwall Park is an expansive parkland in Epsom near the heart of Auckland, New Zealand, surrounding the park containing Maungakiekie pa or the hill of One Tree Hill. Martin Crowe
Martin David Crowe (22 September 1962 – 3 March 2016) was a New Zealand cricketer, Test and ODI captain as well as a commentator. He played for the New Zealand national cricket team between 1982 and 1995, and is regarded as one of the country's greatest batsmen. Crowe made his first-class debut for Auckland at the age of 17, and his Test debut for New Zealand at the age of 19. He was named a Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1985, and was credited as one of the "best young batsmen in the world". Crowe was appointed New Zealand's captain in 1990, and led the team until 1993. In a Test against Sri Lanka in 1991, he scored 299 runs, breaking the record for the highest score by a New Zealander. Graham Vivian
Graham Ellery Vivian (born 28 February 1946) is a former New Zealand cricketer who played in five Test matches and one One Day International (ODI) from 1965 to 1972. He made his Test match debut without previously playing in a first-class match. His father, Giff Vivian, played seven Tests for New Zealand in the 1930s. Both father and son were selected in New Zealand touring teams, in 1930 and 1965 respectively, at the age of 18. Rodney Ernest Redmond (born 29 December 1944) is a former New Zealand international cricketer. He is the father of Aaron Redmond. International career Redmond scored a century and a fifty in his only Test match, against Pakistan in 1972–73, giving him a Test batting average of 81.50. Mark Greatbatch
Mark John Greatbatch (born 11 December 1963) is a former New Zealand international cricketer. He scored more than 2,000 runs in his 41 Test matches for New Zealand. A left-handed batsman and very occasional right-arm medium pace bowler in first class cricket for Auckland and Central Districts, Greatbatch scored 9,890 first class runs in total as well as being an occasional wicket keeper. International career Greatbatch highest test score of 146 not out off 485 balls was against Australia at Perth in November 1989. Greatbatch was at the crease for 11 hours (2 days) to save New Zealand from defeat, the game ending in a draw because of his efforts. He received a standing ovation at the end of the game. Adam Craig Parore (born 23 January 1971) is a former wicket-keeper and batsman for the New Zealand cricket team. He played 78 Test cricket matches for New Zealand and 179 One Day International cricket matches. Parore has been the managing director of financial services firm Adam Parore Mortgages. Peter Neil Webb (born 14 July 1957 in Auckland) is a former New Zealand cricketer who played in 2 Tests and 5 ODIs from 1980 to 1984. Career Webb played for Te Atatu Cricket Club as a youngster, scoring his first century for the Te Atatu 4th Grade men's side against University when aged 14, followed by Suburbs New Lynn Cricket Club. He played Brabin Shield under-20 at 16 years of age, Rothmans under-23 at 17 years of age and first-class cricket for Auckland at 19 years of age. He was first selected to appear for Auckland in January 1977 as a middle-order batsman, and Auckland won the match by 88 runs although Webb did not bat or bowl or take a catch. Rob Nicol
Robert James Nicol (born 28 May 1983 in Auckland) is a former New Zealand cricketer, who played all formats of the game. He is a right-handed opening batsman and bowled right arm off spin occasionally. Domestically, Nicol has played first-class, List A and Twenty20 matches for Auckland and Canterbury, and was the captain for Auckland. In June 2018, Nicol announced his retirement from all forms of cricket.
