Cornish is a census-designated place (CDP) and the primary village in the town of Cornish, York County, Maine, United States. It is on the northern border of York County, on the south side of the Ossipee River where it joins the Saco. To the north, across the Ossipee, is the town of Hiram in Oxford County, and to the east, across the Saco, is the town of Baldwin in Cumberland County. Maine State Route 25 passes through Cornish, leading southeast to Gorham and west to Center Ossipee, New Hampshire Center Ossipee is a census-designated place in the town of Ossipee in Carroll County, New Hampshire. Maine State Route 5
State Route 5 (abbreviated SR 5) is a state highway in Maine that runs from an intersection with State Route 9 in Old Orchard Beach, to an intersection with State Route 120 in Andover. Route description From its southern terminus near the Pier in Old Orchard Beach, SR 5 leaves the town to the west, going towards the neighboring city of Saco. The route runs northwest from Saco, passes very briefly through a Northwest corner of Biddeford, and intersects US 202 (US 202) near the Lyman- Waterboro line. SR 5 runs concurrently with US 202 for a short distance to East Waterboro. Between Waterboro and Cornish, SR 5 is known as the Sokokis Trail. State Route 25 (SR 25) is part of the system of numbered highways in Maine. It runs for across the south central part of the state. SR 25 begins at the New Hampshire border near Porter, where it continues west as New Hampshire Route 25 (NH 25). Baldwin, Maine
Baldwin is a town in Cumberland County, Maine, United States. The population was 1,520 at the 2020 census. It is part of the Portland– South Portland–Biddeford, Maine, metropolitan statistical area. History First called Flintstown Plantation, it was granted in 1774 by the Massachusetts General Court to survivors of the Concord, Massachusetts, company commanded by Captain John Flint. It replaced a grant of about 1735 which gave them Township No. 3, because when state borders were adjusted in 1741, the town turned out to be in New Hampshire—present-day Walpole.
