Cornelius Hager
Cornelius R. Hager (2 July 1913 – 18 May 2007) was an American educator. Hager was born and reared in Jessamine County, Kentucky, where he attended Nicholasville High School. In 1934 he graduated from Asbury College. Following college, he attended Asbury Theological Seminary, receiving the bachelor of divinity degree in 1938. In 1941 he obtained a master's degree from the University of Kentucky. Hager served in the US Army during World War II. Following the war, Hager began his career in education as school superindent for Jessamine County, Kentucky, a post he held from 1947 to 1957. From 1957 to 1979 he served as Assistant Dean of Extended Education at the University of Kentucky. Jessamine County () is a County (United States), county located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. As of the 2020 United States census, 2020 census, the population was 52,991. Its county seat is Nicholasville, Kentucky, Nicholasville. The county was founded in December 1798. Asbury University
Asbury University is a private Christian university in Wilmore, Kentucky. Although it is a non-denominational school, the college is aligned with the Wesleyan-Holiness movement. Asbury Theological Seminary is a Christian Wesleyan seminary in the historical Methodist tradition located in Wilmore, Kentucky. It is the largest seminary of the Wesleyan-Holiness movement. It is known for its advocacy of egalitarianism, giving equal status for men and women in ministerial roles and for ordination. It is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the Association of Theological Schools in the United States and Canada (ATS). The Kentucky Education Association (KEA) is an advocacy and lobbying group for "improved education funding, safe schools, better materials, smaller class sizes, and the empowerment of school employees and parents" in Kentucky's education system. It was founded in 1857. Membership is voluntary, and all school employees can join. KEA has satellites in every school district of Kentucky and is an affiliate of the National Education Association. It is the largest professional group in the state. Organization KEA is divided into 13 separate districts, each governed by an elected board of directors.
