Cornelius Brown (American Football)
Cornelius Brown (born February 26, 1988) is an American former gridiron football cornerback. He played in the National Football League (NFL) for the Indianapolis Colts during the 2010 NFL season. He played college football at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). Biography Brown was born in Houston, Texas, and attended Forest Brook High School. Brown was a four-year letterman for the UTEP Miners football team. He played 48 career games at defensive back and totaled 130 tackles. He also had 24 passes defensed, which is tied for second-most in school history, and was the MVP of the Texas vs The Nation game played on February 6, 2010. Brown was signed as a free agent with the Chicago Bears on April 25, 2010, before being waived on September 4, 2010. Cornerback
A cornerback (CB) is a member of the defensive backfield or secondary in gridiron football. Cornerbacks cover receivers most of the time, but also blitz and defend against such offensive running plays as sweeps and reverses. They create turnovers through hard tackles, interceptions, and deflecting forward passes. Other members of the defensive backfield include strong and free safeties. The cornerback position requires speed, agility, strength, and the ability to make rapid sharp turns. The primary purposes of tackling are to dispossess an opponent of the ball, to stop the player from gaining ground towards goal or to stop them from carrying out what they intend. In gridiron football, defensive backs (DBs), also called the secondary, are the players on the defensive side of the ball who play farthest back from the line of scrimmage.
