Al Corley
Alford Corley (born May 22, 1956) is an American actor, singer and producer. Corley is best known as the first actor to play Steven Carrington in the 1980s soap opera ''Dynasty'' and for his 1984 hit single " Square Rooms". Career In the late 1970s, he worked as a doorman at Studio 54 to pay for his comedy lessons at the Actors Studio. He would later appear in a VH1 ''Behind the Music'' special on Studio 54 to recount his experiences. Al Corley was the first actor to play Steven Carrington on the 1980s soap opera ''Dynasty''. After that, Al Corley acted in fourteen movies, then produced five. Al Corley left ''Dynasty'' at the end of the second season in 1982 after complaining publicly in ''Interview'' that "Steven doesn't have any fun... He doesn't laugh; he has no humor". He also lamented Steven's "ever-shifting sexual preferences", and stated that he wanted "to do other things". Joe Corley is an American karate and kickboxing competitor, instructor, broadcaster and promoter who helped achieve the success of the Professional Karate Association and the early establishment of professional kickboxing in the United States. Joe Corley is CEO of PKA Worldwide. Early years Joe Corley began studying Tang Soo Do at age 16. At 19 he earned his black belt from Master Hong Shik Chung and together they opened the first martial arts studio in Atlanta in 1967 called Chung Institute of Karate. The term karate was used instead of tae kwon do because of its name recognition in America at the time. Joe Corley sought out Master Chung who was the Asian Fighter of the Year in 1964. Master Chung was a direct student of Master Oh Sae Joon. Joe Corley subsequently opened a new school Chung Studio of Karate. Raymond Charles Corley (January 1, 1928 – February 5, 2007) was an American professional basketball player. Corley was selected in the fifth round of the 1949 BAA Draft by the Providence Steamrollers after a collegiate career at Georgetown. He played for the Syracuse Nationals, Baltimore Bullets, Tri-Cities Blackhawks and Fort Wayne Pistons in his three-season NBA career. Pat Corley (June 1, 1930 – September 11, 2006) was an American actor. He was known for his role as bar owner Phil on the CBS sitcom '' Murphy Brown'' from 1988 to 1996. Quentin Durward Corley, Sr. (January 21, 1884 - April 22, 1980) was a Texas circuit judge. Biography He was born in Mexia, Texas on January 21, 1884, to Daniel Jacob Corley (1852–1948) and Mary Louise California (1851–1946). His parents were from Alabama, and moved to Texas in 1874. Quentin moved to Dallas, Texas in 1895. In 1901 he graduated from the Oak Cliff high school. On September 18, 1905, in Utica, New York he was in a railroad accident and lost both hands and one arm and shoulder. Within two years he invented and patented an artificial limb. He went on to study law in the offices of Muse & Allen in Dallas, and in 1907 passed the Dallas County, Texas bar. In 1908 he was elected to the office of justice of the peace, and his service in that capacity was of such a character that in the campaign of 1912 he was elected a county judge. Albert Kenneth Corley (May 10, 1920June 27, 1984) was an American professional basketball player. He played for the Cleveland Rebels of the Basketball Association of America (now known as the National Basketball Association). Many encyclopedias state he is the brother of former NBA player Ray Corley, but Ray was born and raised near New York City whereas Ken grew up in Eldorado, Oklahoma.
