Bob Corker
Robert Phillips Corker Jr. (born August 24, 1952) is an American businessman and politician who served as a United States Senator from Tennessee from 2007 to 2019. A member of the Republican Party, he served as Chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee from 2015 to 2019. In 1978, Corker founded a construction company, which he sold in 1990. This increased his net worth to $45 million. He ran in the 1994 United States Senate election in Tennessee, but was defeated in the Republican primary by Bill Frist. Matthew Corker (born 30 November 1982) is a professional rugby union player for Richmond RFC. Hailing from Broadstairs, Kent and playing rugby from a young age, Corker formerly played for London Wasps and London Welsh. His early playing career began playing for Chatham House Grammar School in Ramsgate where he progressed up to being captain of the 1st XV. Whilst at Chatham House, he played for local rugby side Thanet Wanderers and developed his game. Thomas Corker (1669-1670 - 10 September 1700, Falmouth, Cornwall) was known as an English agent for the Royal African Company on York Island (now Sherbro, Sierra Leone). He married a Sherbro woman and had two sons with her before his early death. The sons also became merchant traders and developed a family dynasty that became prominent among the Sherbro people and British colonists, in the area now known as the Moyamba District, Southern Province, Sierra Leone. As paramount chiefs, they dominated the Bumpe and Kagboro chiefdoms into the 20th century. Descendants live primarily in Bonthe and Shenge of that District. John B. Corker (born December 29, 1958) is a former American football linebacker who played four seasons in the National Football League, mainly for the Houston Oilers, and eight seasons in the Arena Football League. In 2002, Corker was elected into the Arena Football League Hall of Fame. Corker was named Big-8 Defensive Player of the Year in 1978 despite playing in only 7 games prior to tearing ligaments in his knee. He returned in 1979 and was 2nd team All Big-8 and All-American. Maurus Corker (baptised James; 1636 – 22 December 1715) was an English Benedictine who was falsely accused and imprisoned as a result of the fabricated Popish Plot, but was acquitted of treason and eventually released. Life He was born in Yorkshire. His baptismal name was James: he took the name Maurus when he entered the Benedictine order. On 23 April 1656, he took vows at the English Benedictine house Lamspringe Abbey near Hildesheim, in Germany, and returned to England as a missionary in 1665. Popish Plot Being accused by Titus Oates of collusion in the Popish Plot, (which was in fact Oates's own invention), he was imprisoned in Newgate Prison, but was acquitted of treason by a London jury, 18 July 1679. Yusuf Corker (born December 26, 1998) is an American football safety for the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Kentucky. College career Corker redshirted his true freshman season at Kentucky. He played in all 13 of the team's games as a reserve defensive back and on special teams as a redshirt freshman.
