Ann Corio
Ann Corio (born Ann Coiro; November 29, 1909 – March 1, 1999) was a prominent American burlesque stripper and actress. Her original surname was Coiro, changing it to Corio for stage purposes and because some family members did not approve of her profession. Biography Born in Hartford, Connecticut, she was one of twelve children of Italian immigrant parents. While still in her teens, Corio's good looks and shapely physique landed her showgirl roles that led to her becoming a hugely popular striptease artist. Her rise to stardom as a featured performer began on the Mutual burlesque circuit in 1925. She later worked at Minsky's Burlesque in New York City and Boston's Old Howard Theatre. Bernardino Corio (born 1459 in Milan; died ca.1519) was an Italian humanist and historian of the Renaissance. He wrote ''Historia di Milano'' circa 1500. Biography Bernardino Corio came from a renowned Milanese family that had served the Sforza for over 250 years. He began his career as chamberlain of Galeazzo Maria in 1474, and was a witness to the latter's murder on 26 December 1476. He subsequently held various offices at the Sforza Court before entering into the circle of Duke Ludovico Sforza, an endorsement that led him to assume first the office of regional ''podestà'' in the 1490s, then the appointment as ''Giudice delle Strade'' (in charge of road maintenance). The latter office constituted Ludovico il Moro's sign of gratitude for the ''Historia Patria'', the first chronicle of the city of Milan written in the Italian. Silvio Corio
Silvio Corio (1875, Turin − 1954, London), also called Crastinus, was an Italian anarchist who was active in London during the first half of the twentieth century. Silvio was born in Turin, the son of Eugenio Corio and Chiara Domenica. Following some initial involvement with the Turin Socialist Club, he became active as an anarchist. He trained as a printer and typographer. He was conscripted in July 1897 and spent most of the next 18 months in a disciplinary battalion as a result of his political activity. However, in 1898 he fled to France in the face of the repression implemented by Luigi Pelloux.
