Johann König (born 22 July 1981) is a German art dealer, and the founder of König Galerie. Since 2019 he has faced multiple allegations of sexual misconduct. König's attorney obtained an injunction (Az. 324 O 397/22) from the Hamburg Regional Court because of false factual allegations and inadmissible reporting of suspicions. With the judgment of the court, essential parts of the reporting are prohibited. The Academy of Arts (german: Akademie der Künste) is a state arts institution in Berlin, Germany. The task of the Academy is to promote art, as well as to advise and support the states of Germany. The Academy's predecessor organization was founded in 1696 by Elector Frederick III of Brandenburg as the Brandenburg Academy of Arts, an academic institution in which members could meet and discuss and share ideas. Käthe Kollwitz Prize
The Käthe Kollwitz Prize (german: Käthe-Kollwitz-Preis) is a German art award named after artist Käthe Kollwitz. Established in 1960 by the then-Academy of Arts of the German Democratic Republic (nowadays the Academy of Arts, Berlin), the prize is awarded annually by a jury whose members are newly chosen each year to a visual artist living and working in Germany who is honored either for a single work or their complete body of work. Since 1992, the prize money (12,000 euros as of 2009) has been co-funded by the Kreissparkasse Cologne, the owner of the Käthe Kollwitz Museum in Cologne.
