Corinne Ching is a former American politician from the Hawaii Republican Party. She represented the 27th District in the Hawaii House of Representatives from 2002 to 2012. In 2008, Ching was fined for a Speeding, speeding offence. In the 2012 Hawaii House of Representatives election, she was Unseating, unseated by Democrat Takashi Ohno. The Hawaii Republican Party ( haw, ʻAoʻao Lepupalika o Hawaiʻi) is the affiliate of the Republican Party (GOP) in Hawaii, headquartered in Honolulu. Hawaii House Of Representatives
The Hawaii House of Representatives is the lower house of the Hawaii State Legislature. Pursuant to Article III, Section 3 of the Constitution of Hawaii, amended during the 1978 constitutional convention, the House of Representatives consists of 51 members representing an equal number of districts across the islands. It is led by the Speaker of the House elected from the membership of the House, with majority and minority leaders elected from their party's respective caucuses. The current Speaker of the House is Scott Saiki. Legislators are elected to two-year terms and are not subject to term limits. As in many state legislatures in the United States, the Hawaii House of Representatives is a part-time body and legislators often have active careers outside government. The 2012 Hawaii State House of Representatives Elections were held on November 6, 2012. All 51 seats were up for election. A total of 6 (3 Democratic and 3 Republican) seats changed sides as a result of the election. 2 Republican incumbents failed to secure reelection against Democratic opponents. 3 Republicans took advantage of the redistricting and gained seats in districts vacated by incumbents. Takashi Ohno (born on Kodiak Island, Alaska) is an American politician and a Democratic Party (United States), Democratic member of the Hawaii House of Representatives since January 16, 2013 representing District 27. Ohno announced in March 2022 that he will not be running for re-election in the 2022 Hawaii House of Representatives election, and will leave the Legislature to work in the private sector after his term ends.
