Corey Barsby
Corey Barsby (born 18 March 1992) is an Australian cricketer. He played in two List A matches for Queensland in 2011. Barsby's father, Trevor, represented Queensland in First-class cricket. He represented Queensland in under-14's Rugby League but later focused on cricket. He began playing for Sandgate-Redcliffe in Brisbane Grade Cricket in the 2009/10 season and in the 2010/11 season he scored 600 runs for the club earning him selection in the Australia Under-19 merit side in December 2010. In early 2011 he was selected for Queensland in the Ryobi Cup and wore the No. 2 which had been retired when his father retired from the State team. Barsby was on the fringes of the Queensland team as of 2013, and as of 2015 he was captaining Sandgate-Redcliffe. In 2016 he was selected for the Queensland Academy of Sport 2nd XI again, having previously played with the Academy. As of the 2019/20 season Barsby, was still captaining Sandgate-Redcliffe. Cricket
Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). List A Cricket
List A cricket is a classification of the limited-overs (one-day) form of the sport of cricket, with games lasting up to eight hours. List A cricket includes One Day International (ODI) matches and various domestic competitions in which the number of overs in an innings per team ranges from forty to sixty, as well as some international matches involving nations who have not achieved official ODI status. Together with first-class and Twenty20 cricket, List A is one of the three major forms of cricket recognised by the International Cricket Council (ICC). Trevor Barsby
Trevor John Barsby (born 16 January 1964, in Brisbane), nicknamed "Tank" is a former Australian first class cricketer who played for Queensland. Barsby was an aggressive batsman, usually opening and often with Matthew Hayden. He is one of a select group of players to have appeared in 100 Sheffield Shield games for Queensland. This milestone was reached in his last game, the 1996/97 Shield Final. Queensland Premier Cricket is the top cricket competition played in Queensland, Australia. The competition was founded under the name Brisbane Electoral Cricket in 1897 and eventually came to be known as Brisbane Grade Cricket, but has since expanded to take in teams from Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, and Ipswich. As of the 2019/20 season there were six grades in the Two-Day Bulls Masters competition. In addition to the two-day Grade competition there is also a One-Day competition for the John McKnoulty Cup and a T20 competition for the Tom Veivers Trophy. Australian Domestic Limited-overs Cricket Tournament
The One-Day Cup, known as the Marsh One-Day Cup for sponsorship reasons, is an Australian domestic List A 50-over limited-overs cricket tournament. It has had many different names, formats and teams since the inaugural 1969-1970 season. Initially a knockout cup, the competition now features a single round-robin followed by a finals series. The tournament is contested between teams representing the six states of Australia, who also compete in the first-class Sheffield Shield.
