Cordel Iwuagwu
Cordel Iwuagwu (born September 4, 1996) is an American football guard who is currently a free agent. He played college football at TCU. High school career Iwuagwu attended Westfield High School, where he starred as an offensive guard on the Mustangs' football team. At Westfield, Iwuagwu earned First-team District 15-6A honors. Scout.com rated Iwuagwu as a three-star recruit, the No. 7 offensive guard in the State of Texas, and No. 60 offensive guard in the nation coming out of high school. Iwuagwu, ultimately, chose to attend and play football at TCU over scholarship offers from Arizona State University, University of Illinois, University of Louisville, and Syracuse University. College career Iwuagwu redshirted his 2015 freshman season at TCU. In 2017, as a sophomore, Iwuagwu started all 14 games, lining up mostly at left guard. In gridiron football, a guard (G), otherwise known as an offensive guard (OG), is a player who lines up between the center (American football), center and the offensive tackle, tackles on the offensive line of a football team on the line of scrimmage used primarily for Blocking (American football), blocking. Right guards (RG) is the term for the guards on the right of the offensive line, while left guards (LG) are on the left side. Guards are to the right or left of the center. The guard's job is to protect the quarterback from the incoming defensive line, linemen during pass plays, as well as creating openings (holes) for the running backs to head through. The 2020 East–West Shrine Bowl was the 95th staging of the all–star college football exhibition to benefit Shriners Hospital for Children.
