Corbin Robertson
Corbin J. Robertson Jr. is an American businessman. Personal life and education Robertson is the grandson of Texas oil magnate Hugh Roy Cullen, the founder of Quintana Petroleum. Robertson's father also worked for Quintana. Robertson was an All-American linebacker at the University of Texas, captaining the team to a victory at the 1969 Cotton Bowl Classic. Career Robertson's involvement with the family business began when he was 15 years old. Robertson inherited Quintana's large holdings in oil but, in the 1980s, decided to invest his fortune in coal. Robertson built up a large coal empire, usually by buying the land and collecting royalties from the coal mined from the land. Some of Robertson's operations involved mountaintop removal. By some estimates, as of 2010 Quintana had the second largest amount of coal reserves in the United States, with only the federal government having bigger reserves. The Eclipse Award is an American Thoroughbred horse racing award named after the 18th-century British racehorse and sire, Eclipse. An Eclipse Award Trophy is presented to the winner in each division that is made by a few small selected American foundries with expertise in studio bronze casting. Whatcom County is a county located in the northwestern corner of the U.S. state of Washington, bordered by the Canadian Lower Mainland (the Metro Vancouver and Fraser Valley Regional Districts of British Columbia) to the north, Okanogan County to the east, Skagit County to the south, San Juan County across Rosario Strait to the southwest, and the Strait of Georgia to the west. The title of American Champion Older Dirt Male Horse is an American Thoroughbred horse racing honor awarded annually to a stallion or gelding, four years old and up, for performances on dirt and main track racing surfaces. In 1971, it became part of the Eclipse Awards program as the award for Champion Older Male Horse. The award originated in 1936 when the ''Daily Racing Form'' (DRF) began naming an annual champion. Alydar
Alydar (March 23, 1975 – November 15, 1990) was an American Thoroughbred race horse and sire. A chestnut colt, he was most famous for finishing a close second to Affirmed in all three races of the 1978 Triple Crown. With each successive race, Alydar narrowed Affirmed's margin of victory; Affirmed won by 1.5 lengths in the Kentucky Derby, by a neck in the Preakness and by a head in the Belmont Stakes. Alydar has been described as the best horse in the history of Thoroughbred racing never to have won a championship. Alydar's fame continued when he got older. He died under suspicious circumstances.
