Copa Serrana
The Campeonato da Região Serrana, commonly known as the Copa Serrana, is an annual competition organized by the Rio Grande do Sul state football federation for clubs that are in the first, second and third divisions of the Campeonato Gaúcho and are located in the mountainous region and northern of the state. It is held in the second half of the year and usually clubs participating in the higher levels of the Campeonato Brasileiro do not participate with the first team squad, using his academy. The competition was founded in 2013, being a qualifying tournament for the Super Copa Gaúcha, where the winner ensures participation in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série D of the following year. The Copa Serrana occasionally receive a different name, honoring important people related to football in Rio Grande do Sul. Clube Esportivo Bento Gonçalves, commonly referred to as Esportivo, is a Brazilian football club based in Bento Gonçalves, Rio Grande do Sul. It currently plays in Campeonato Gaúcho Série A, the first level of the Rio Grande do Sul state football league. History On August 28, 1919, Clube Esportivo Bento Gonçalves was founded by Leonardo Carlucci and other sportsmen. In 1969, the club won the Campeonato Gaúcho Second Level, beating by W.O. Avenida. In 1979, Esportivo finished as Campeonato Gaúcho runner-up, ahead of Internacional. In 1989, the club competed in the Brazilian Championship Second Level, but was eliminated in the first stage of the competition. Marau
Marau is a municipality in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. It was initially populated by Italian immigrants that were escaping from the war. The city name is based on the brave native chief "cacique Marau" which fought against the white people to keep the land. Estádio Alfredo Jaconi, is a football stadium inaugurated on March 23, 1975, during the centennial commemoration of the state's Italian Colonization, in Caxias do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, with a maximum capacity of 30,519 people. Garibaldi is a municipality in Rio Grande do Sul, southern Brazil. It has a population of 35,440 people, most of them of Italian descent . The city is famous for its wine and sparkling wine productions. The name Garibaldi is a homage to the Italian revolutionary Giuseppe Garibaldi and his Brazilian wife, Anita Garibaldi.
