Copa Castilla Y León
The Copa de Castilla y León (Castile and León Cup) is a basketball competition between the best teams of Castile and León, organized by the Castile and León Basketball Federation. From 2002 to 2005, the different teams where facing them every round and the final was played always against CB Valladolid, the only team in ACB in that years. Since 2006, a Final Four tournament is played every pre-season in Palencia. Champions History Results 2002 After a try in 2001 with the teams of Liga EBA, the Castile and León Federation decided to improve the tournament including in it all the elite clubs of the autonomous community. The first round was played in a one legged round-robin format by all the Liga EBA teams. 2003–04 The second edition had a similar format but changing the first round. Fernando San Emeterio
Fernando San Emeterio Lara (born 1 January 1984) is a Spanish professional basketball coach and former player. He is currently working as an assistant coach for Valencia of the Spanish Liga ACB and the EuroLeague. He was an All-EuroLeague First Team selection in 2011, as well as the ACB MVP the same year. Professional career San Emeterio began his professional career with Valladolid, during the 2001–02 season. In 2006, he joined Girona. In 2008, he moved to Baskonia. He was named the ACB MVP in 2011. In 2011, he signed a new four-year contract extension with Baskonia. On 30 June 2015, he parted ways with Baskonia. On 8 July 2015, he signed a two-year contract with Valencia Basket. CD Maristas Palencia
Palencia Baloncesto, officially named as CD Zunder Palencia, is a professional basketball team based in Palencia, Castile and León. The team currently plays in league LEB Oro. History The club was founded in 1979 at Colegio Marista of Palencia, with the aim to support farm teams competing at provincial and regional tournaments. The professional basketball team was created on 1997 and played during five years at Liga EBA before being invited to join the LEB Plata. On the 2008–09, Palencia Baloncesto won the Copa LEB Plata and was champion of this league, promoting for the first time in their history to LEB Oro, the Spanish second division. In 2014 Palencia Baloncesto was defeated by CB Tizona in the promotion playoffs finals to Liga ACB by 1–3.
