Copa América De Futsal
The CONMEBOL Copa América de Futsal is the main national futsal competition of the CONMEBOL nations organized by the FIFA. It was first held in 1964 and was organized by Asociación Mundial de Futsal (AMF) as "Sudamericano". The tournament was also a qualifier for the AMF Futsal World Cup. The AMF organised the championship until 1989. In 1992 Conmebol organized its first South American in Aracaju under the name "Campeonato Conmebol de Futsal (FIFA)". In that tournament only 4 national teams participated (Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay and Ecuador) and it was used as a World Cup qualifier as well than the tournaments of 1996 and 2000 that were called with the same name. The other tournaments played between 1995 and 1999 were played in Brazil and were called Taça América de Futsal FIFA. The dominance was always of the local team although those tournaments were only competitive without prior classification to any contest. CONMEBOL
The South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL, , or CSF; es, Confederación Sudamericana de Fútbol; pt, Confederação Sul-Americana de Futebol) is the continental governing body of football in South America (apart from Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana) and it is one of FIFA's six continental confederations. The oldest continental confederation in the world, its headquarters are located in Luque, Paraguay, near Asunción. CONMEBOL is responsible for the organization and governance of South American football's major international tournaments. With 10 member soccer associations, it has the fewest members of all the confederations in FIFA. CONMEBOL national teams have won ten FIFA World Cups (Brazil five, Argentina three and Uruguay two) and CONMEBOL clubs have won 22 Intercontinental Cups and four FIFA Club World Cups. The 2008 Copa América de Futsal was the 9th edition under FIFA rules, 20th edition of the main international futsal tournament of the South America region. It took place in Montevideo, Uruguay from 23 June to 28 June 2008. 2022 Copa América De Futsal
The 2022 CONMEBOL Copa América de Futsal was the 13th edition of the Copa América de Futsal, the international futsal championship under FIFA rules organised by CONMEBOL for the men's national teams of South America. It was held in Asunción, Paraguay from 29 January to 6 February 2022. The tournament was originally scheduled to be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. However, on 27 December 2021 the Brazilian Football Confederation asked CONMEBOL to transfer the event to Paraguay because of the sanitary restrictions imposed in Brazil due to the COVID-19 pandemic. CONMEBOL confirmed the change to Paraguay on 4 January 2022, maintaining the same dates. Planned to be held in 2021, the tournament was postponed until 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and it marked the return of the Copa América de Futsal after four years as the 2019 edition ended up being cancelled. The 2019 CONMEBOL Copa América de Futsal was going to be the 13th edition of the Copa América de Futsal, the international futsal championship under FIFA rules organised by CONMEBOL for the men's national teams of South America. The tournament was originally to be held in Los Ángeles, Chile between 23–30 October 2019. However, on 22 October 2019, one day before the start of the tournament, CONMEBOL announced that it was cancelled due to the Chilean protests. Brazil were the defending champions.
