Cooper Independent School District
Cooper Independent School District is a public school district based in Cooper, Texas ( USA). Located in Delta County, a very small portion of the district extends into Hunt County. History 19th century Delta County was first inhabited by European settlers in the 1820s, when the area around present-day Ben Franklin was developed. The area saw an influx of settlers in the 1830s, many coming from the southeastern United States. In 1846, control of the area was split between Hopkins and Lamar Counties by the Texas Legislature. The area continued to grow rapidly, developing into a largely agricultural area. In 1868, inhabitants of the area petitioned the state of Texas for the creation of a new county, and in 1870, the petition was granted and Delta County was formed, with its government based in the newly formed city of Cooper. Shiloh is an unincorporated community in Hardin County, Tennessee. Before the Battle of Shiloh/Pittsburgh Landing Pittsburgh Landing (North of the Hornets Nest) “Pitts” Tucker founded Pittsburgh Landing, Tennessee by building a tavern and so a town and port was built around that. Shiloh (South of the Hornets Nest) Shiloh is of somewhat unknown origins but descendants of the Iroquois settled the area and built the Indian mounds in both Pittsburgh Landing/Shiloh and Savannah, Tennessee. Then, during the Westward Expansion Era, Lewis Wicker bought 400 acres of land in Shiloh/Pittsburgh Landing all the way from at least Perry Field to Downtown Shiloh. Mount Pleasant is a large suburban town in Charleston County, South Carolina, United States. Sam Houston
Samuel Houston (, ; March 2, 1793 – July 26, 1863) was an American general and statesman who played an important role in the Texas Revolution. He served as the first and third president of the Republic of Texas and was one of the first two individuals to represent Texas in the United States Senate.
