Coolmine () is a primarily residential suburb of Dublin, Ireland, in the jurisdiction of Fingal. It is also a townland in the civil parish of Clonsilla. Location and access Coolmine is located between the suburban areas of Blanchardstown (to the south-east) and Clonsilla (to the west). It is in the Dublin 15 postal district. It is roughly 15 kilometres from Dublin city. One of the largest shopping outlets in Ireland – the Blanchardstown Centre – is located in Coolmine townland, as well as other parts of greater Blanchardstown. Public transport in Coolmine is provided by Dublin Bus, with route numbers 37 and 39 serving the area. The N3 Navan Road is the main road artery. The Blanchardstown Centre is one of Ireland's largest shopping centres, located in Blanchardstown, Dublin, Ireland. It opened in October 1996 and was extended in 2004 to create extra retail space. It lies in the administration of Fingal County Council. The Blanchardstown Centre is served by over 600 bus movements per day, and is close to Dublin's M50 radial motorway, and adjacent to the M3 motorway. In June 2016 the centre was sold to the Blackstone Group by Green Property for an estimated €950m. A Gaelscoil (; plural: ''Gaelscoileanna'') is an Irish language-medium school in Ireland: the term refers especially to Irish-medium schools outside the Irish-speaking regions or Gaeltacht. Coolmine Community School ( ga, Scoil Pobail Chúil Mhín) is a co-educational secondary school in the Coolmine suburb of Dublin. It lies within Greater Blanchardstown in the administration of Fingal. History The school was one of the two first community schools founded in Ireland, in 1972, and was officially blessed and opened in 1974. The Royal Canal ( ga, An Chanáil Ríoga) is a canal originally built for freight and passenger transportation from Dublin to Longford in Ireland. It is one of two canals from Dublin to the River Shannon and was built in direct competition to the Grand Canal. The canal fell into disrepair in the late 20th century, but much of it has since been restored for navigation. The length of the canal to the River Shannon was reopened on 1 October 2010, but a final spur branch, to Longford Town, remains closed. M3 Parkway Railway Station
M3 Parkway is a Park and Ride railway station in County Meath beside Dunboyne and the M3 Motorway (Pace Interchange Junction 5). It is the terminus station on the Docklands to M3 Parkway Western Commuter service (during peak times Monday to Friday) and Clonsilla to M3 Parkway shuttle Commuter service at all other times. It mainly serves as a large Park and Ride site, with 1,200 free car park spaces. The station is no longer served by any bus routes. This is a major drawback for commuters in its catchment area. History In 2005, the Irish Government announced that, as part of its Transport 21 plan, the line between Clonsilla and Navan would be reopened for passenger trains in two stages. Maynooth railway station serves the town of Maynooth in north County Kildare, Ireland. It is a key exchange station on the Dublin to Maynooth commuter services, Dublin to Mullingar/Longford long-distance commuter service and Dublin to Sligo InterCity service. Description It is situated on the south side of the Royal Canal, opposite Dukes' Harbour. Access to Maynooth is by either the footbridge to the west, which leads to the Main Street of Maynooth; west along the canal walk to residential areas of the town, or via the road bridges to the east, which lead north to the older part of Maynooth, or south to the newer areas. The N3 road is a national primary road in the Republic of Ireland, running between Dublin, Cavan and Republic of Ireland-United Kingdom border, the border with County Fermanagh. The A509 road (Northern Ireland), A509 and A46 road (Northern Ireland), A46 roads in Northern Ireland form part of an overall route connecting to Enniskillen, and northwest to the border again where the N3 reappears to serve Ballyshannon in County Donegal. Rush hour congestion between Navan and Dublin city was very heavy (up to 22,000 vehicles per day on single carriageway portions of the N3 in 2002), and problems occurred at most built-up areas between these points.
