Cook County, New South Wales
Cook County was one of the original Nineteen Counties in New South Wales and is now one of the 141 Cadastral divisions of New South Wales. It includes the area to the west of Sydney in the Blue Mountains (Australia), Blue Mountains, between the Colo River in the north, and the Coxs River in the south and west, encompassing Lithgow, New South Wales, Lithgow, Mount Victoria, New South Wales, Mount Victoria, Katoomba, New South Wales, Katoomba, Wentworth Falls, New South Wales, Wentworth Falls, Lawson, New South Wales, Lawson and most of the other towns in the Blue Mountains. The Nepean River is the border to the east. Before 1834, the area was part of the Westmoreland, Northumberland and Roxburgh countie Cook County was named in honour of the navigator James Cook (1728–1779). Lawson, New South Wales
Lawson is a town in the Blue Mountains area of New South Wales, Australia. It is located on the Great Western Highway between Hazelbrook in the east and Bullaburra in the west. Lawson has a station on the Main Western line. The town is also served by a public swimming pool and over the years has developed into the commercial hub of the mid-mountains area, which spans from Linden to Bullaburra, boasting a significant industrialized area as well as a shopping center located on the south-eastern side of the highway. The City of Penrith is a local government area in the state of New South Wales, Australia. The seat of the city is located in Penrith, located about west of Sydney's central business district. Hartley is a historical village in the Central Tablelands region of New South Wales, Australia, within the City of Lithgow local government area, located approximately west of the Sydney central business district. Hartley is located below the western escarpment of the Blue Mountains. It was once a major administrative centre on the Great Western Highway. It has since fallen into decline, replaced by other towns that are on the railway line. At the 2011 census, Hartley had a population of 299 people. Capertee pronounced ( ) is a village 46 km north of Lithgow, New South Wales, Australia. It is on an elevated site (808 metres) above the Capertee Valley.
